Dangerous. I felt the heat before I felt the touch. It started as a breath..just a soft exhale right at the nape of my neck. It made my skin erupt in goosebumps. Then fingers. Light, exploratory, tracing the edge of my tank top strap like they had every right to. Like they’d been waiting to do this for weeks. My breath hitched. I froze harder. My body screamed for more. But I didn’t move. I couldn’t risk it.

He explained, his hot breath fanning over my skin. Something makes my skin turn to goosebumps and I’m not sure if it’s his hot breath of the words he is speaking right now. Out of instinct, instinct to protect him, my arm slowly wrap around him, my palm resting flat on his shoulder blade in a loose embrace. Another scar is right under my palm and I wonder where he got this one from -

I stare at the huge window, my body shaking violently amidst the frigid air. Goosebumps cover my body. I knew I was shivering, but I also noticed it wasn't the cold that caused this. I wasn't sure, but I walked towards the window with my bare feet. I raise my head, staring up at the blood moon high above me. It's the first full-blood moon after a hundred years. Suddenly, my breathing quickens, changing its pace the longer I stared. I let out a shaky breath, panting. The overwhelming feeling intensifies the moment the red moonlight shines upon me. My eyes widen when I realize my skin was glowing before the snapping sound of bones fills my ears.

It was so genuine. The glass ban of it comes back to my head. My eyes slowly flip close. Goosebumps slowly coats my whole body. I feel a shape spasm on my legs which quickly dies off. It’s more like a jerk on my legs. I felt a part of me when I hugged him. The tranquility of my heart felt next to nothing.

“Guess I’ll need security for Goose.” He smirked, his thumb brushing lazily over my shoulder. “I’ll take that gig.” The room smelled like candle wax and cinnamon, the kind of cozy chaos I’d once only written about. My notebook sat on the table, a clean new one with a sticker that read Book Two. I picked it up, running my fingers over the cover before flipping it open. The first page stared back at me, blank, full of promise. Goose flicked his tail, pressing his head against my arm like he was reminding me who the real inspiration was.

He smirks at my struggle and uses his thumb to crease my cheek.

As Cam sat in her changing room, still waiting on her best friend to show up after the awkward moment with her mate and teacher, she began to feel this odd way… goosebumps appeared on her skin, the hairs on her body were erect, as though she had been electrocuted.
