Novel & Cerita Plain Jane Series

I follow behind her to see that as soon as she sat down; she begins to eat the chicken sandwich the maid made. ‘’Mrs. Thomas, I hope the sandwich isn’t too spicy because that one is for Mr. Thomas.’’ ‘’No, it’s fine. It helps with the bad feelings I’m having.’’ The maid nods. ‘’I am glad this day is over and it isn’t anything serious. I would have gone insane if anything had happened to my little smudge.’’ ‘’Smudge?’’ I ask, raising a brow. ‘’Yeah, looking at the ultrasound. That’s what it looks like, a little smudge.’’

Jane explained. *** THE YEAR 1991 “Jane,” Paul was on the front of their house in the middle of the woods as Jane squint her eyes from the inside. She widened her eyes when she wore her shabby slippers, the old sweaters that her mother owned through the day, and the pajamas that her father owned too. She straightened her hair for a bit as she came out through the wooden door and glanced up at him. “What are you doing here? How come you…,” Jane was cut off as Paul smiled at her for a little. She furrowed her eyebrows and tilted her head to one side as she got puzzled on why does she looked so sad.

Nothing about it was fair any more. These past few years Jane had begun to accept the fact that she wasn't one of the Waleskis. And she had started writing a book called the Unfair Life of Jane, Plain, and Short. It wasn't a real book, just a list of experiences and even that made Jane wonder whether the universe had something in the particular against her. For example:

Chalking it up to most of the guys on the case had known that she was a college friend of Bruce and Alec’s, they hadn’t. She had gotten to the cabin and locked the door. As she raced upstairs, she could hear Agent Brown shooting the lock off. Breathing heavy as she pulled her suitcase from under the bed, she grabbed one of the revolvers Carter had gifted her one year for her birthday. Agent Brown called out to her again. He had said that he wasn’t going to hurt her, but he had to turn her over to the guys that wanted her. Brown had started talking about his son who had leukemia. His health insurance covered most of the cost, but the deductibles were slowly killing him and his wife financiall

He was already getting on my nerves. "I'm sorry," Bianca mouthed, got into her car, and zoomed off. I followed suit, getting into my car and trailing behind them towards the gym. I arrived at the gym five minutes later, spotting Bianca and her husband already engaged in their stretches at a corner. I couldn't help but steal glances at the man, but my trainer interrupted my thoughts. "Jane! It's so good to see you," Patrick, my trainer, exclaimed, opening his arms for a hug. I hesitated briefly, then embraced him. Patrick was always friendly and welcoming, and his presence brought some comfort for a lonely man who was in his mid 40s.

Jane I stepped out of my small apartment and into the cold morning air, a sense of monotony settling over me like a dark cloak. Another day, another routine to follow. A life devoid of excitement or adventure, where each day bled into the next in an unending cycle of sameness. This was my reality, a quiet existence in the bustling town of Brookside, where nothing ever seemed to happen.

JANE I heard the words leave my mouth before I could stop them. "It's only fair to end this with a little bit of crass, is it not?" His eyebrows went up. Interest flickered across his face. I stood, tucking the bills into my purse with deliberate slowness. Five hundred dollars. That was textbooks and maybe even groceries that weren't ramen. My hands weren't shaking anymore. I was Jailbird now. Fully Jailbird. Jane Puckett was locked away somewhere safe.

Clara The room hummed with nervous energy while we waited for Jake to return with the Leaders everyone once again on high alert now that we knew there actually was a way for the infected to breach our walls, the impenetrable compound no longer seemed so safe. A shuffling of bodies shifted to reveal the grim faces of our leaders, each one looking tired and haggard, as though none of them had slept in a week and I contemplated that just maybe they hadn't. “Mr Jones said that you found something?” Jade questioned.

Jane blinked away the tears that started to form in her eyes. "Everything will be alright, I will find her, mother," she assured her, muttering her promise as Jane held her mother's hand, squeezing it slightly, creating a little comfort as Flora smiled sadly at her daughter. What happened was still a puzzle to them and she can't even think of any but the clues are leading to her somewhere she must find who did this to end this, the case and the clues are not a coincidence, and what happened today was not either, it was something her guts tell that it was all planned as Jane thought of it one by one, collecting each pieces of evidence and clues. She opened her phone and texted Austin, telling

Her body shook with sobs, and she felt utterly helpless, Jane White was broken. Jane was blankly looking at the cars passing by, standing near her institution. If she jumped in front of one, would she die? But what if she didn't? That was the only thing stopping her from taking the step. She didn't know when she slept last night. She woke up when Adrian opened the lock in the morning. No words were exchanged between them. She somehow got ready and left with him. Pretending everything to be normal. As if nothing happened last night. Suddenly she came out of her thoughts, hearing a high-pitched shriek that cut through the air. "Jini! Jini!”
