Each symbol seemed to pulse faintly beneath my touch, as if responding to my presence. And this time, it was more intense. It felt like someone was drilling holes into my back with their eyes, causing goosebumps to sprout on my skin. My muscles locked and my hand was almost giving away the pile of books in my hands.

I don’t think I’ve ever had such a feeling of freedom. Nothing could bother me, hurt me, or even get to me here. It was like I knew it; my body and soul knew it. So I fell deeper into the soft comfort, embraced the darkness back, and leaned in. Something stirred down here with me, another presence awakening and slowly searching for me. My skin still erupted with goosebumps over my arms and down my back, and the continuous rumbling sound that followed me—vibrated through my chest, making my heart flutter with anticipation, waiting for something.

Everywhere around me was silent but I felt like someone was watching me and it made goosebumps appear on my skin. I rubbed my hands along the length of my arm to get rid of the goosebumps but they won’t go away. The eyes on me were creepy even though I could not see it or the person. It felt like something was crawling up my body and it was making me shudder in shock. I didn’t know what the fuck I was searching for but I needed something, anything at all to make sense of this mess. I stretched my fingers till I fingered the edges of the book, the mannequin stayed intact. I flipped the cover and the first page was blank. I flipped again and there was nothing in there as well. I flipped radically and there were still blank pages and-

I whisper to no one. My skin prickles with goosebumps, every hair standing on end. The light inside me responds to whatever unseen force lies ahead, crackling along my arms with new intensity.
