"Just don't be afraid of me. If it bothers you, don't look." With those words, he seemed to dissolve into a thick stack of black fog. His face peered from the center and took on a horrifying, almost demonic appearance, with glowing red eyes and elongated features made of the same fog. Emily opened her mouth in a silent scream, but the only sound that emerged was an almost inaudible squeak. "Don't look," he commanded, his voice sounding like a haunted howl of wind. "Hold on tight," he instructed as the group barreled through the line of werewolves and into the night.

" Wow! It doesn't seem like she can see ghosts hmm. Yes she can see ghosts but she doesn’t want to tell to other people about that. "But you can see ghost duh!” I said with full of sarcasm. "Yep. If it's a real ghost, and are you scared in ghosts? Opps.. you’re a ghoster remember?" And my crazy friend laughed as if she wasn't a ghoster too. "Wow am I the only ghoster here? You too" I muttered to her. "Hmm Aeshe whats the feeling of being ghosted?” she asked me out of nowhere. "Did you see the guys who cry when we are leaving them? And to see a guy crying with just a week of flirting with them it would have been a lot of pain that it caused them to cry like that." I said to her.

Leon panted, scanning the dim corridor as his breath came in uneven bursts. Suddenly, a faint figure emerged out of the shadows—the female ghost. Her face was blurred and indistinct, her presence otherworldly. She didn’t speak but raised a hand that glowed faintly blue, pointing silently in a specific direction. Leon froze, instinctively stepping back half a pace. But time was slipping through his fingers, and hesitation was a luxury he couldn’t afford. Clenching his jaw, he forced himself to follow the ghost’s lead.

His head lolled, eyes glassy and unfocused, but he kept chanting, 'ghost, ghost, ghost,' like a fucking mantra from hell. Even when I slammed him back against the cold metal wall, the impact rattling the shelves nearby, he didn’t stop chanting. “Who is Ghost?” I snarled. “Look at me and tell me who the hell Ghost is.” His head lolled again, and his mouth kept moving, his voice hoarse and cracking. Spit drooled from his mouth to his chin, and his pupils were wide, staring through me. “Ghost… ghost… ghost…” My patience snapped. My hybrid senses were still buzzing from the Veil trace, and I couldn't wait for answers the usual way. Pressing my palm flat against his forehead, I pushed in, seeking

Ghost grabbed the other hand, and the remaining five fingers also fell to the ground. Marcus and Mark had lost the ability to speak as they looked on in fear. Ghost used a special technique and broke Layla’s limbs. She could not move, and the only thing she could do was scream out in pain. She wanted to faint, but the pain woke her up every time. Ghost looked towards the door and ordered, “Come.” A few men in white lab coats carrying unique briefcases entered. They looked like doctors, but when Marcus had a clear look at the badges on their chests, he was so dumbfounded that he ended up vomiting blood.

It wasn’t like he was going to be stepping into any big role right away like me. His old man goes by “Ghost” and I hope he’ll be like him. Ghost is kind of Grouch’s right hand. While I’m the enforcer, the one with the most flies, Ghost is usually the one who gets the guys that come into the basement. You’ll never see him coming until he’s putting zip ties on your wrists and a bag over your head. He’s a huge dude but he’s light footed and sneaky. Professional stalker is the term I use.

"A ghost doesn't leave digital footprints in a high-security relay, Chalida. Ghosts don't have secondary signatures." Pim tapped the screen with trembling fingers, her eyes darting between the fluctuating lines of the code. "This user is actively scrubbing our location, yet they’re leaving breadcrumbs. Why?"

"Wait. I need to know. Why did, uhm, whatever, carelessly pick me?" "Go back." The woman wasn't paying her any attention. She kept on plucking cowries and attaching them to her head. "What is he? Oh, don't answer that one. He's a ghost. I know that. Why is he in that state? No, no, why can I see him? Why can l feel his touch, ghosts can't do that, can they? What does he need me for?" The old woman stopped her scaly hands from further movements and stared directly at Geneva through her foggy eyes that obviously saw clearly.

The skin has thinned to translucency, a layer of wet parchment stretched too tight. Beneath it, my blood isn't red. It is a dense, shimmering gold, thick with data-streams that pulse in time with the city’s mercury code. I’m not bleeding. I’m leaking. "You're... you're glowing," the girl whispers. She scrambles backward, her heels scraping the stone. She isn't looking at the drones anymore. She’s looking at me with the terror people reserve for ghosts that refuse to stay dead. To her, I am a glitch in a silk dress, a piece of the architecture that developed a heartbeat. I don't answer. Every word has a price, and my ledger is empty.
