“I saw the fire. You lit it. I’m inbound. Don’t move.” Callum raised an eyebrow. “Friend of yours?” “She saved my life once,” I said. “Now she’s saving it again.” Raven arrived less than four hours later—low orbit drop from a stealth glider, hitting the snow with a controlled roll and rising like nothing had happened. She pulled off her helmet, dark eyes scanning us with sharp efficiency. “You look worse than the intel,” she said, brushing snow off her flight suit. “But you did it. The Echo Seat. The virus. Even Marek’s scream got caught in the net. Nice touch.”

If she even was pretending anymore. “Please stand up. Pull the blanket back. If you could lend a hand, sir—Thank you.” Kade drew the shock blanket away from her chest and shoulders. There was another camera flash, then another and another, that left Raven’s vision burned with white spots. She could only imagine what she looked like in those photos: ghostly pale in the blare of the flash, with Burt’s blood splattered across the white skin of her chest and shoulders and neck. At least it wouldn’t show up against her red dress, she thought blandly. She prayed she would never have to see those pictures.

Of course it would be a hard task considering the fact they all wear masks and if she were to be found out with her gloves, it wouldn't be possible. The superiors in the Raven band all have special gloves to differiante them. The superiors are the ones who get to know what Raven looks like and they are the most trusted and surprisingly they are just five of them. Kai, Archie, Lucius, Tanya and including Raven herself (Mia). They lead certain lookouts for any spotted offender in line with the job they are called for; fishing out the weres, vamps and zombs.

One of the most iconic fashion designers alive is standing in front of me like this is normal. Like she didn’t just crash through my life with luxury and glamour.
