the stranger bent over Marcel and pulled out a golden dagger but before he could kill Marcel with it he felt something stab him from behind making him drop his weapon. “I thought they said you were one of the best" a female voice said behind him “Urgh ...what?” He tried to turn to see the face of his attacker but Marcel used the opportunity to pick up the fallen dagger and stabbed his would-be killer in the throat before pushing him with the little strength he was able to muster, he sat up and watched the man bleed to death but saw something strange in the man’s blood.

The ability to remain calm while standing ankle-deep in blood. More importantly… I saw someone who understood monsters. Not because she had studied them, but because she had survived one, she carried scars the world couldn't see. Those scars had not made her cruel, only careful. She was exactly the person I needed. Which was why my proposal had failed so spectacularly. I smiled despite myself, she had looked horrified, not tempted, not curious, simply horrified. "No." She hadn't hesitated. “I might not like those monsters, but I'm not a killer.”

Instead, he leaned back against a mahogany shelf, his casual sweater bunching at his shoulders. He looked at the stack of books on my desk, his eyes lingering on a tattered spine I had tucked at the bottom. "Wait, is that THE STAND?" he asked, pointing to the thick paperback. I looked down, my eyes landing on the book he was referring to. It was a survival horror story. Something about an alien invasion and humans getting wiped out one by one. "Oh. Yes. I’ve read it three times, but I find comfort in the end of the world sometimes. It makes my own feel... manageable."

Four of them total. Three are Silver Hunters, and the fourth ... is Sara Khalek. A gasp flies from my lips, and Davis shifts into his wolf form. "Sara." I rush to her side and feel her cheek. She's cold. She's been dead for many hours, maybe for days. Davis sniffs one of the bodies, his wolf lips curling back. "She put up a good fight." His bass werewolf voice echoes in the small room. I close my eyes against the tears. "Are there any others in here?"

Alissa quickened her pace. A scene of destruction met her eyes. Kimberly's home had been ransacked. A trail of blood led into the kitchen. She followed it, being careful where she stood. She could place the smell now, it was death. She knelt beside Kimberly's body. Alissa begun to shake “Luca!” she pushed her mind to him “Luca, Kimberly's dead!” “I'm on my way, is Michael there?” “I don't think so”.

We found sleeping pills in his bloodstream! Aren't these Diazepams yours? Tell me, why did you murder your husband?" I froze for a moment before abruptly standing, my emotions spiraling out of control as I shouted, "That's impossible! This bottle contains Carbamazepine!

Jack's smile fades and his face becomes serious. "Yes, I remember." "I'm sorry," I say, suddenly regretting asking him the question.

“What the bloody hell is that?” I moved away from Ryker, my eyes were solely fixated on the book. Wiping away the shattered glasses, I did not care if it would hurt me. Once it was clean, I read the book to Ryker. “It is the Book of The Damned.” All I wanted was to get a hold of that book and satisfy my curiosity but when I did, I could feel the power surging from the book, my hands were painfully attached to it. Then the book opened, forcing my palm to hold it up the pages started to flip rapidly. So many images flashed through my mind but none of which I recalled. The book slammed shut and I blinked. I turned to Ryker and swallowed before finding my voice to speak, “Did you see that?”

This was the Devil. Talia's eyes clashed against his. Those eyes were the ones Lukas showed to her while proving to her that he ruled Hell. Red, glowing against his pale skin, digging into her flesh and leaving goosebumps behind. "I will kill you this time." Ajaxson huffed, producing a sword as well.
