Evelyn whispered cruelly, staring into his desperate eyes. Slowly, she began to push her blade forward, her dark magic flaring with a suffocating, heavy pressure. Gabriel’s breath hitched in his throat as a sharp, agonizing pain flared near his heart. Tasha's poison, triggered by Evelyn's dark energy, violently choked his inner wolf. He felt his arms grow heavy, his muscles turning to water as his Alpha fire flickered and died. With a powerful flick of her wrist, Evelyn blasted Gabriel backward. He crashed heavily into the rocky wall of the cliff, his sword flying out of his hand as he fell to his knees in the cold dirt.

I glanced up at Wayne holding my breath. Luccus stepped out of the shadows towards us, teeth barred as another deep growl comes from him. I hear a howl in the distance and the sound of Clarissa and Scarlet coming closer but I felt helpless as Wayne stares Luccus down. I slowly get off the ground hoping to not draw attention to myself, I knew I wasn’t fast enough to get away from him in this form. Wayne shifts his body to block me more from Luccus but opening himself more for attack.

The hungry looking rogues circled us, smacking their lips together and growling. Rachel pulled me into her and let out a kick to one of the rogues. She was a great fighter while I just stood their like a useless idiot. Picking up a long stick beside me I poked one of the rogues in the eye making him yell out in pain. Buying myself a few more minutes to think, I found myself wishing I could reach Ben by mindlink. "We're coming. Don't worry." His voice filled my mind and I squeaked in response. How the hell did that happen?

She followed closely behind him and the two disappeared into the forest. "Did you notice?" Weaver asked and Alex nodded. "Her brother is blind. That's probably why she thought it best to talk it out." Alex said and Weaver nodded. "Don't tell the others about the male being blind. It'll provoke some of the others to try and run him off." Alex said and Weaver nodded in understanding. "I'll take a group to start setting up markers upon our new territory." Wever said and Alex nodded wondering how someone who couldn't see had survived this long. He had help from his sister but he didn't seem to rely on her. . . .
