His face was unreadable, green eyes distant.
Next to him, Taka Seida leaned against the wall, arms crossed. His silver bangs fell over one eye.
“He was good,” Taka muttered. “That Taiga guy.”
“Yeah,” Midorin said.
“Not better than you, though.”
“That’s not what matters,” Midorin replied, glancing at the scoreboard. “They won.”
Taka shrugged. “You did your best. Can’t win every time.”
“No, but I could’ve stopped him.”
