Chapter Four “This is Elaine, Alpha Jacob’s daughter.” He said with a warm smile. I stayed silent but deep down my heart was erupting the flames of sadness. “I am Freya, Alexander’s wife.” She said with a warm smile stretching out her hand for a handshake. I didn’t need the goddess help to know that she was sounding the alarm that he belongs to her. I forced a smile but I had no time to accept the handshake, her hands were suspended in the air. This may seem so rude, but at this point I didn’t care.

The base of the entire necklace was made from solid white gold that had been treated to turn completely pitch black, like charcoal or burnt wood. This dark metal represented the past, the pain, and the destruction that the syndicate had faced. But climbing right up out of the black metal were dozens of tiny, hand-carved silver vines that held the most incredible gemstones. The main stones were giant, flawless emeralds that were a bright, electric green. They looked like fresh, radioactive leaves growing out of the dark soil after a terrible forest fire.
