He was a cutie, damn fine actually, but sweet and nervous, a nice kid and everything that Jeff wasn't. Only my friend and I would love to spend some time with you. If you don’t mind.” I guess they are polite. But I really don’t want any company right now and I sure hope they’re not going to be insistent.

Dustin proudly said. "Are you?" I asked with a mocking look to tease him. They are good-looking. I couldn't deny it. They are both tall, more or less six feet. Dustin is the definition of a boy next door, and Bryan is the bad boy. Girls are usually attracted to these guys, bad boys, and good boys. "Why are you giving me that look? I'm telling the truth." They had high heels that wrapped around their calves and dresses just as short as mine if not shorter. "Guys this is Olive and her friend Hailey." Leo gestured to us. I scanned the room slower. Near the far wall a group of guys stood together that I recognized from the hockey team. They were hard to miss — all of them tall and built in that particular way that came from years of training and checking people into boards, wearing the kind of effortless confidence that athletes had in social spaces because social spaces had always responded well to them. The kind of surface-level attractive that you appreciated the way you appreciated good architecture — objectively, without any particular investment. I appreciated it objectively.
