I struggled to hold back my tears and nodded. "Good girl." He whispered. He let go of my chin and started to walk around me in circles. "What is your name, Rogue?" I hesitated. Should I give him a fake name? I didn't know what kind of information they needed to check the blacklist. Maybe they would let me go if I lied.

“You allowed so many to treat you so badly?” How can he so easily have given up his right to a title? His heritage? I know their pack was small, but they were hoping one day to go back, surely?... “We will always be rogues in people’s minds.” Aiden says. “But you are an Alpha.” Cayden says, his voice showing his shock. It would be written in history that two powerful werewolf rogues had everything under their control. Even vampires and alpha packs fear them.

They were rogues. Rogues are wolves who don’t belong to any pack. They have no Alpha, no laws, and no training. Most times, rogues are dangerous. They live in the wild and fight to survive. They don’t know peace or order and some of them go crazy over time because they don’t have a pack bond to keep them stable. These ones in front of me, from the way they looked, they looked like they had lost their minds a long time ago. I stepped back slowly, pulling Seraya behind me. My hand gripped her wrist tightly as we both moved back together.

She raised a claw to finish it off when another rogue jumped at her, knocking her off the wolf. Nora whimpered, falling to a side, leaving her ribs bruised and bleeding. Of course, rogues travelled in twos. The new rogue crouched beside the fallen rogue, sniffing it and checking if it was still alive. Nora saw her blood on a couple of fallen leaves and growled, charging at the newcomer. She gave it no breathing space as she took it down, swiping at its neck with renewed energy and anger. When it tried to howl for help, she ripped out its vocal cord and the rogue went still. Returning to the initial one, it was barely alive and struggling to get away.

I didn’t want to be confined by the rules of a pack and I would never bow down to another man for the rest of my life. Unfortunately, the term used for such packless, mateless wolves such as me and Ruksaar, was Rouges. Not a pretty term considering that rogues were usually violent in their temperament and their only aim was to wreck havoc in the world, but that’s how the saying goes. However, I preferred the term lone wolf. “State your purpose of being here, rogue!” A tall man in his late twenties spat out, like he had swallowed something distasteful. I raised my eyebrows at him. “I’m under no such obligation.”
