Mason shook his head slowly, “This is definitely an unusual sight.” The alarm bells in Reena’s head began to ring shrilly. the sound piercing, this usually happens when a situation is about to go horribly wrong. “Do not concern yourself with me.” Reena answered in a primly proper tone a thief should not have. “I am simply here to steal this totally unassuming flash drive and I will be out of your hair.” The man threw his head back as a booming laughter escaped his lips, and unlike the man she met downstairs, Reena was not intrigued by it. Rather it caused all her hairs to rise on end as she eyed the man suspiciously.

I asked. He raised his brows at me and said,” How did you know that? I did not tell you that, right?” “No, but you can come to know a lot about people if you are observant enough. There is a tattered and dog eared book peeking out of your satchel and I can understand from the cover that it is one of the Danzel’s novels. So I guessed that you might be looking for some of the new spy thrillers?” I said and he smiled at me appreciatively.

His one arm tightly enveloping my body. Arthur smash his hand hard into the side of the cupboard retrieving a gun from inside the splintered wood. Arthur's reaction to the man rounding the counter is psyche, inevitable. He fire straight at the man with sharp precise three-round bursts that send the man falling to the ground. The other guy reach for Arthur's gun, but Arthur roll his hands down and away, making a quick swirl then his feet meeting the man's face. His head turn to the side from the kick and with a small snap of Arthur's hands around his neck he fall to the ground. Motionless.

I did a little twirl in the middle of the room and started combing the bookshelves to see what treasures I could find. I was just too excited to have found this place. I came across a smaller leather-bound book that had a weird symbol on the front and when I opened it, I realized that it was a history of the Hunter's. I decided to keep that book just in case I needed it. I was totally in my own world when I felt someone’s arms go around me and breath in my ear. "I see you found my favorite place in the house." My body shivered at the contact. I thought that I was going to melt into a puddle right then and there.

I beamed. "Crazy, isn't it?" "Fucking crazy, for real." "First, we put THE DA VINCI CODE by DAN BROWN here." He picked out the book and inserted it in the center line of the shelf. He put HOW TO STOP TIME by MATT HAIG, followed by EVERGREEN by NAOMI HIRAHARA. "Then KISS THE GIRLS by JAMES PATTERSON." He put it next to the first book. "I've read that." I went on in a spur of excitement. "It's a thriller and mystery novel about a detective who's trying to track down a serial killer. So many twists and cliffhangers. Total page-turner." I giggled.

But surely a man as rich as him would have a book or two? And he did. A whole room full. And in a room that was free of his scent. I ran my finger along the spines of the books, scanning for something to read. Sure enough, they were all in Spanish but there was also a Spanish-English dictionary and that combined with my pre-existing Latin and Italian knowledge, I was able to sit down and slowly decipher a Latino thriller. Although continually having to pause and refer to the dictionary which somewhat destroyed the suspense, I found myself getting completely engrossed in the book. Dan Brown, Lee Child, and Matthew Reilly.”
