I walk towards the couch and pick the veil, turning to the room before halting on my step. Then, I throw the veil back on the couch before sitting down and shifting my attention to my phone. I scroll to the notification bar, watching as each notification pops up and I tap on Vittorio's name. “Call me when you see this message.” He'd typed, and after some minutes, he added, “please.” I click my tongue in annoyance as I exit the tab but my phone suddenly rings as if he was waiting for the chat to be marked read. I groan, picking it up and bringing it to my ears.

It still hurts but I can tolerate the pain. My eyes went to my mate sleeping with her head resting on the wooden table. The chair looked very uncomfortable and I couldn’t help but feel guilty. I slowly walked my way to her. She looked so peaceful sleeping. My hands moved the hair strands covering her face. The familiar sparks ran through my hand making me sigh. My hand brushed her blushed red cheeks and I lowered myself to her level. "I am sorry I am doing this. I want to say goodbye but I can’t. The more I wait the more danger you will be." I said as I kept stroking her cheeks.

She's cold-hearted! "And I was right. You've been married for so long, and she can't even give you a child! "I think Sophie is much better. She's got a good personality, unlike Isabella, who always looks so gloomy, like we owe her millions! "And most importantly, Sophie seems like she'd be able to have kids."

She was just about to sleep when her phone screen lit up. It was a new post from Abby. Nine photos—birthday cake, gifts, family, friends. A perfect tableau of happiness. And then, her phone rang. It was a video call request from Abby. She hesitated, unwilling to answer. But then, a thought crossed her mind.

My eyes moved on their own toward Damien, and I groaned angrily when I saw him watching us with keen interest. "Feel bad for who now? It's not like I asked him to wait for me," I said. "Alright, alright. See ya tomorrow," Hobi singsonged, pushing me out to the center of the cafe area. I turned around, giving the two of them a hateful glare. "You guys." "Love you, baby J!" Grace blew me a kiss while Kai made a heart with his hand. I didn't know what exactly Damien gave them to make them act like this. Just one day of him here and he'd already made my friends side with him.

"Delia, I really thought you'd changed this past year. Guess you're still just as hot-headed as ever." He slid a glass of vodka across the table toward me. "Miley went out of her way to apologize on your behalf back then. It's my birthday today. The least you could do is give me a toast before walking out, don't you think?" I didn't touch the glass. I just stared at him in silence.
