The thought terrifies me, but I have to try and stay positive. I'm lying in bed trying to fall asleep, but my mind won't shut off and stay quiet. The rest of the week is going to drag on as the anticipation for Saturday presents itself. My phone vibrates on the bedside table next to me. I retrieve the device and squint as the bright light burns my eyes. I see a single name across the screen. Atlas. It's a simple but sweet text: 'I'm looking forward to Saturday night. Can't wait to kiss you again.'

Earlier this morning, Nadine messaged me saying she was swamped with work and couldn't make it home to celebrate my birthday today. Then, she transferred me 100 dollars with a message that read, "I love you." And just like that, seven years together was made to feel like the punchline of some sick joke. In Nadine's eyes, I was only worth 100 dollars, while Dylan was worth 10,000 dollars. Later, Dylan posted another video. This time, it was taken at a karaoke bar. Nadine was in the frame, looking into the camera with an affectionate gaze as she sang a love song.

I state turning back around. I fish out my phone and turn on the camera “Smile Angela” I take the shot. “You can send that to Auntie Claudia” I state sending it to her direct messages. “She would be needing that” I walk into my house and shut the door behind me. I sigh Finally, some peace and quiet.

I was a little scared that I might have pushed her to do it but now I couldn’t unsend the message, I just had to wait. Almost when it was time for me to wind up the studies and go to bed, my phone beeped. I immediately put everything aside and grabbed my phone but when I opened it, it was a text from Ryan. Good night, love. I smiled and wished him good night before going to bed to get some rest.

I suppose it was just as well he was out for the count. Lifting his heavy hand, I pressed his finger onto the phone, lighting it up to life. My heartbeat jumped up into my mouth as I clicked on the text message. “I hope everything’s okay? I can’t sleep so thought I’d text to say thank you so much for tonight. For my gifts, for the party, for showing me your affection, your patience, your charm which evidently made my knickers drop… oh, and your skills. I really need to talk to you, you have me until my night shift at the shelter starts at 8 pm. Miss you already. M xxxxxx”

I grinned. “Come on, give me details!” she begged. “Good night,” I said, heading upstairs. Before falling asleep, I texted my girlfriend—just a short message—before the tiredness finally took over.

I guess tomorrow I'll have to do my laundry. My phone vibrated and I saw it was Adam and I felt a smile crawl up my face. A: You sleeping yet? - Nah, wassup? I should see what he wants to say. I open the message. It says, "Good night. Have a lovely dream. I hope you won't stress yourself because of me" I casually appreciate the message and leave the phone without replying. This is the first time he texted me in simple words. He is not gonna give up, still trying to find new ways. I lie down on the bed and doze off. *

I admit. By midnight we are both barely awake. “I need to sleep, so I am mentally ready for tomorrow.” “Ok, goodnight, my dear.” “Goodnight, Onyx. See you soon. Oh, it's Midnight; I will be with you tonight when I go to bed.” I seductively state before hanging up the phone. A text comes seconds after hanging up. “There is a good chance you will not sleep tonight.” I laugh at his text and fall asleep.

Well You Should Cuz I’m Texting You. I took my phone out. It was a message from Jillie telling me, Goodnight. I texted her back and said, Sweet dreams, baby girl. She was going to sleep sort of early. Whatever happened at her house must have tired her out. If I had to guess, I would say it was something to do with her sister. I could make out the argument that caught her attention.
