The second I gasped for air I knew the monster had failed. Pain still burned through my neck but it faded fast. My eyes snapped open. The world rushed back with firelight and shadows. Chapter 22: Solo Boss Fight The big black monster smashed into the concrete path with a loud crash that shook the whole wall beneath my feet. "So the first move is the Monster Vampire to chase the gorbloids and when the gorbloyds die I'm sure they'll all move to advance to the finish spot." Creed said so we nodded. "the plan, we will wait for the Monster Vampires to attack the gorbloyds, when the monster vampires attack we will slowly sneak to the finish spot." Said Creed.

Tears sprung forth as she glared at the monster before her. It looked like a cross breed between a leech and a flea, and it was already wriggling its huge bulbous butt, looking ready to pounce back onto its host. Just as Nozomi dove for her backpack, the parasitic monster jumped and crashed into the wall behind Nozomi. Nozomi’s fingertips barely reached her bag, with her legs still restricted by the monster under the table. She yanked hard on her bag strap then stuck her hand inside her bag.

But then I noticed the silhouette of one of the monsters leaping above him. "Zeke! On your back! Watch out!" Too late. The monster attack sent him flying onto the road. I could hear loud, furious snarls all around me. Zeke quickly dodged to the side, narrowly avoiding the monster as it prepared to raise its claws and strike. The snout, all bloody and drooling, had bloodshot eyes that looked completely dead. I couldn't see any signs of life in there. The sight of it makes me want to puke.

I clutched my pregnant belly, bee-lining for the car; the thumping noise gaining on us. As we approached the cabin, I saw a dark shape moving through the trees behind us: tall and thin with long arms that swung back and forth like pendulums. The monster was still chasing us, but it slowed down. It seemed to be having trouble navigating the trees and undergrowth. The moonlight illuminated its face for a brief moment and I saw that it was covered in blood. "What is that thing?" Emily screamed as we reached the car.
