Days passed, and I hadnt heard from Roxie, but that might have been my own fault. Id been busy. I finally found a place of my own, a real house, that was all mine. It was an exclusive place with a keypad on the large steel gate that kept the huge fence around the place locked up tight. Id been busy buying furniture and a car. Ive never owned a car before, or furniture, but there was a first time for everything, right? I spent a week getting the place set up, and then, I finally talked to my family in a conference call on Skype. At first, thered been confusion.

My great aunt Gertie died. I'd known that. I didn't know she left me her two bedroom one bath nine-hundred square foot home in her will. A quick stop at a local lawyer's office to sign the paperwork and I became a home owner. It was anticlimactic. No one released balloons or took pictures with me holding a set of keys. All those things excited new homeowners do. For my safety I kept my milestone a secret from everyone but my mother. It's easier to flee if no one knows where you're going.

“Can I steal a spot in the garage? It’ll be so nice not to have to clear snow off my Jeep again.” “You’ll have the spot closet to the house.” “We left that zombie in the attic.” “You’re right. I forgot about that. At least there wasn’t much left of her.” “I need to figure out who she is. It’ll help to know her name in case she starts haunting us the day we move in.” Abby takes her stethoscope from her neck. “Did you get a house together?” “We just bought one,” I say. “Well, Lucas bought it. We quite literally signed the paperwork hours ago.”

She looked out through the windshield without a word. “Welcome home, baby.” I pressed the password on the security keypad. The gate slid wide. She looked at me. Her expression was pure shock. Kye and Sax were already out of the SUV, surveying the area around my ten-bedroom house. I bought it from a real estate broker after earning eight figures in my bank account. I helped her out of the car after I got a signal from Sax. “This is beautiful, Mykel. How long have you had this house?”

More than fine, everyone else seemed to be in a good mood even. It was on one of those days when I was wondering if the air conditioning in this damn house I was trapped in had broken when I received a message from a buyer. It turned out that the Grey Wolves had gotten a new investor and all the houses around my small little house which I had planned to escape to had been bought. Now, the investors also wanted to buy my house. “Hello?” I called the number that had been attached to the mail.

The single mom decided to gather her clothes and underwear from Gage's bedroom floor and headed straight to the guest bedroom beside Hazel's. Gage house was a spacious house with two guestrooms, one home office, a modern-looking kitchen and dining area, a beautiful foyer, a very cozy living room, a nice size of an outdoor pool, and a master bedroom for himself. The day he took her for a tour of his house she knew she liked it.

I screamed, interrupting her and jumping off my chair. She chuckled. “Alright. I will be waiting.” “Okay. I'll be there soon.” I did a little happy dance once the call ended. Finally some good news. I've been waiting since forever to get this house and now it was mine. “Heya,” Jess said the moment she answered my call. “Guess what?” “You know I'm really bad at that. Just spill the tea already.” I giggled. “It's not necessarily tea.” “Okayyy?” “I got the house!!” I squealed.

We exit the plane then get into the Range Rover waiting outside for us. An hour later.. After an hour of relentless driving, we finally reached the house, our house. Almost everything had been replaced and the property was Fort Knox now disguised as a mansion. We pulled up onto the newly paved driveway and got out. I was instantly met with the head builder Robert who had made this whole thing work out. "Boss!" He greeted, "ready to see your new home?" He asked and handed me the blueprints that mapped out he brand new home. I smiled politely and unrolled the paper.

**** Gina and George are bursting with joy at dinner. They are never around during the day. Still busy hunting for a house. Damien wishes he could help George with that but he's busy with work. I'm so glad they didn't ask me because I've been depressed for one week straight. I hate seeing the sun. They clearly went shopping today. Gina bought a short little dress. George bought a new leather jacket. Gina even got her nails done and her hair looks so new and shiny. "We finally got a house!" Gina announces gleefully. "We will be moving tomorrow. I know you guys want us to stay but we need some space."
