Grandma Drawing Novels & Stories

I feel more free here because it offers me the promise of a fresh start where as Massachusetts keeps me rooted in the past. I have my sketch book in my hand and I have already drawn the sunset behind the trees. I am working on a portrait of all of my relatives that I was just with. I started with Uncle Zeke, wanting to catch is infectious grin on paper. Uncle Jack, with his frown, is another focal point I want to make sure I get right. I got the look of pure elation and contentment on Grandma's face at being surrounded by all of her family.

He let out a long breath more than once, even as he continued chewing his breakfast. Grace sat beside Nathan, her small feet gently swinging beneath the table. One hand busied itself spreading jam over her toast, while most of her attention went into the little stories she shared nonstop. “Grandma,” Grace said brightly, “I have drawing class today. My teacher said my drawings are getting neater.”

To make sure she was real. On the fourth day, I brought my best drawing. It was a picture of all of us — me, Mommy, Daddy, and Grandma — standing in the garden with butterflies everywhere. I had drawn Grandma with strong colors so she wouldn’t look sick. I held it behind my back when I finally walked inside. “I made this for you,” I said, pushing the paper toward her quickly before I could change my mind. Grandma Eliana took it with both hands like it was made of glass. Her eyes got shiny the way Mommy’s do sometimes.

I do similar ones of Michael to give to Carrie and one for Zuri but with a lion for the family. I then move on to the drawings for Christmas. For grandma Calista I draw a portrait of grandpa Thierry and her with all the current grandkids. I know she’ll love it. I make sure to leave room for more grandkids. I stare at grandpa Thierry and look at my other drawings. We’ve had a lot of loss in this family.

Ariane’s POV Meanwhile, Zoya sat beside me, still looking worried. "Mom, will Grandma be okay while drawing? She looks very tired." I nodded, trying to reassure my sister. "Grandma just needs a little time to rest. Drawing can be a good way to help her feel better. We can all help." Zara had started drawing, creating her imaginary world on paper. She drew bright-colored flowers and a blue sky, occasionally glancing at her grandmother. "Grandma, look! This is the flower I made. Do you like it?"

I find Grandma in the kitchen. “She’s leaving,” I say quietly . Grandma looks up from her coffee . “You stop her?” “I tried.” She sets the cup down. “Try harder.” I nod. Leo runs in, waving a drawing. “Daddy, look! I made our family!” Three stick figures, Tall one with dark hair. Shorter one with long hair, Small one in the middle holding both hands. I swallow hard. “It’s perfect, Captain.” He beams. Elena walks in, sees the drawing, smiles too bright.

"Mom, let's play puzzles then draw... but can you draw, Mom?" Gemma smiled and nodded. Clement stood up happily, and when Gemma didn't know what her son was going to do, the boy quickly ran out of the room. Gemma was worried that she had said something that made Clement angry and left, but she quickly brushed that thought aside because Clement was always smiling. When Clement returned, he held a lot of white paper and colored pencils in his hand. "Mom, teach me how to draw," Clement said, then pushed aside the puzzle pieces and placed the white paper in front of Gemma.

"You can look now, Ate Graziel." Graziel accepted the drawing with a warm smile. Three stick figures were drawn on the paper. One was a tall man. One was a little girl. And the last one was a woman with long hair. All three of them were holding hands. A gentle smile appeared on Graziel's face. "It's beautiful." "This is Daddy." Junie pointed at the tallest figure. "And this is me." Graziel nodded. "And this..." The little girl smiled brightly. "...is you."

His eyes glowed like the sun as he warned me. "You won't allow her to kill me because you feel the same for me, too, Connor." I reached out to touch his face. He moved quickly, creating a strong wind that blew my hair backwards. I looked around the area searching for him. It was as if he were never there. **** In the late evening, my aunt loaned me her car to pick up a chair at a carpenter shop near the woods. The chair once belonged to my grandmother, whom I never knew, and she wanted to bring it back home with her as a reminder.

A warm, loving smile appeared on her face as soon as she spotted Haley. Grandma put down the platters, rushed over, and grinned as she took Haley’s hand. "You're Haley, right? Rhett has said a lot about you. I'm finally able to meet you today. What a lovely girl, so fragile and new. She is obviously a girl from the South.” Haley, a little taken aback by the compliment, said, "Hello, Grandma. Hello, Grandpa." Grasping his hands behind his back, Grandpa trailed behind Grandma, grinning at Haley. "My boy informs me that you share a passion for drawing. I've looked at your work. Excellent. You're really talented."
