Her magic stirred uneasily, as if it, too, sensed the unseen eyes.
When they reached the grove, it was like stepping into another world. The trees here were ancient, their gnarled roots twisting over the ground like veins. Moonlight filtered through the canopy, casting eerie patterns on the forest floor. In the center of the grove stood a stone altar, weathered by time but still pulsing faintly with magic.
“This is it,” Olivia whispered, her voice barely audible over the rustling leaves. She stepped closer to the altar, her magic tugging at her like an invisible thread. “I can feel it.”
