It crashes to the tile. I drag it to the bedroom door. I wedge the corner of the bathroom door into the crack. A lever. I brace my feet against the wall. I pull with everything I have. CRACK. The frame shatters. The deadbolt rips free of the dry rot. The bedroom door swings open. I sprint down the hallway. It’s empty. Ghostly. I fly down the stairs, skipping steps, my hand sliding down the railing. The clubhouse is silent. Eerily silent.

I just guessed they were all wondering what had happened to the power source. I tiptoed and of course I was extremely careful and as sneaky as I could be. I followed all the directions and descriptions the maid had given to me carefully so as not to miss my way or just wonder around unproductively. Finally, I reached the north wing. I had never set my eyes on this part of the mansion ever. I soon saw a camera but luckily for me it wasn’t turned on but I still needed to be fast and careful because I knew that if I was unlucky and the lights came on, I was going to be downfall.

At midnight, I gave up. I swung my legs over the side of the bed and stood up. The floor was cold under my bare feet.
