I've hardly secured my seatbelt when Grayson zooms off. He neither makes comments nor eye contact. He stops in front of a large store. He doesn't say a word to me before getting down from the car. I'm not really expecting anything from him so I'm a bit surprised when he circles the car and opens the door for me. I mutter a 'thank you' feeling my cheekbones rise due to the action. He doesn't give any indication that he heard me thanking him before walking ahead of me and into the store. I follow him immediately, not wanting to have to look for him later on.

There must be at least five of them. When Grayson hears his men attacking, he takes it as a sign to join the fight. He shoots the first man he sees and quickly runs to the living room to hide the devices. Grayson groans each time he makes a step as his wound sends an electrifying pain through his body. Grayson should be resting and taking his meds, but instead, he's fighting like his life depends on it.

I glanced at the omega wolf before leaving the room and going to the garden. This pack still needed a leader and Grayson was trained his whole life for the position. I may not like him but I had to do what's right by these people. I removed my phone from my pocket and read messages from Wyatt, he called a few times too. Grayson joined me in the garden half an hour later, he was fully dressed and his eyes were red like he was crying. " Hello," " How can you be so calm when you ordered two deaths? Adira, that man was my father," he growled.

Grayson tore himself away from my neck, his face was inches away from my own as he looked at me. "Please", he whispered, "Please Laila, let me claim you. I couldn't stand being so far away from you today and not knowing what was happening. When I heard you had been attacked I almost lost it... I can't do that again Laila, I can't pace around not knowing if you are alright". Grayson pleaded with me, the desperation in his heavy voice was enough to make me wince. I hated to see my mate so distraught. My own carnal need to possess him was still raw from my encounter with Jayde and Amara spurred me on, urging me to scream YES!
