“Do you like jokes?” “I do,” I said. He told me one about a duck in a library that made no sense and made perfect sense because he laughed so hard at the end that he forgot the last word and had to start again. Emma rolled her eyes and said she had a better one, and then her punchline was the same as Eli’s by accident and they both laughed until Stella smiled, and I had to look down for a second because the feeling in my chest was too much. When the laughter faded, Emma picked at a crumb and looked up. “Where do you live?”

It didn't help that I was wearing heels either. "Let me tell you a joke," Conner says. We all looked at him as he motioned us to come closer. "Can a kangaroo jump higher than the Empire State Building?" He gives us a moment to think before he bursts out laughing. "Yes, because the Empire State Building can't jump!" Conner raised his hand in the air with less coordination, demanding that he get a high-five for his terrible dad joke. He got a few nudges and pushed instead. If I were sober, I would have gagged a little, but since I was drunk, I am beyond the point of caring and laughed for the sake of it.

A message bubble lit up under his name, cheerful and oblivious. Just another one of his dry, stupid jokes—something about his dinner being so terrible he was convinced the restaurant was trying to assassinate him with undercooked chicken. He'd probably attached one of those ridiculous GIFs he was always finding, something animated and silly that was meant to make me laugh.

She pulled back, a grin spreading across her face. "Okay, enough with the sappy stuff before I break out in hives. Want to hear a joke?” I laughed shaking off the heaviness of the conversations "Sure hit me” She launched into a ridiculous story about a goose that somehow got stuck in a wedding cake and by the time she was done I was laughing so hard my sides hurt. Once the laughter died down we slipped into a more relaxed conversation. I told her about the explosion at the HQ. “Have you heard anything new about it?"

Ademola attempted another joke but this one didn't sell. "Guy, that was fücking dry na." Kayode grimaced disapprovingly at Ademola who wouldn't stop laughing at his own dry joke. "Dude, stop laughing. The joke didn't make any sense fa." Ayomide chided and Ademola stopped laughing for once. Henry kissed his teeth and plopped back down to his bed, laying on it as he stared at the ceiling of their room.

"Now that deserves a SANDing-ovation. I was afraid I was going to have to use some CAMEL-flage to get out of here. I was just SHORE things were going to end badly. Now I am hungry. You know what I want?" The other men started. "A…a SANDwich?" Renat asked, unsure of what to do with the jolly general. "Precisely! And don't forget DEsSERT," Junayd laughed. "But don't try to SAND by me to me when it comes to jokes. You will always come up a few GRAINs short." The boy shrugged and gave the General a sidelong glance. "I have found that all jokes about deserts fall under DRY humor. But perhaps that is because one has to be deserted to fully appreciate them."

“I thought it was rather punny.” I let out a low, frustrated groan. “Wonderful. I have to deal with two men who like cringe jokes,” I complain unhappily. Why can’t men tell normal jokes for a change? Do they all have to be dad-jokes? As soon as I spot Jay finally coming around the corner, I follow along and wait for him to notice the Sorcerer next to us. Jay gives me a confused look, then shifts his attention to Bucky. As the two of us meet up with Jay at the cabin, Jay asks, “is this lunch or the Sorcerer?”

Dustin did not hold back and rebuked them. The mood in the private room immediately changed. No one expected that Dustin would get mad right away. “Aw, Dustin! You really can’t take a joke,” Gavin said with a frown. “I used to be your senior in high school. I only told the story to liven things up. I didn’t mean to make fun of you. Why are you so pressed?” “That’s right. It’s just a little bit of fun. How are you supposed to socialize with people if you can’t take a joke?” someone said unhappily.

Embarrassed, Zhuang Jia wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, "What's wrong? Not funny?" The corner of Gu Yan's mouth twitched, "Does this count?" "Of course it counts, jokes are also considered storytelling!" Zhuang Jia bristled, a little depressed, feeling like she hadn't fired up the atmosphere. She threw the dice back on the table and said, "Come on, come on, keep going on!" The person with the smallest number of points for the second time was Jiang Chen.

"You have no idea–I was just joking around, but those disgusting guys went crazy asking me for your contact."
