Not that Fenryn would admit it, but he was nervous of the creature. Unicorns were often pictured as horned horses in the books he had read, and the myths and legends surrounding them could have never prepared him for what he saw now. The unicorn was smaller than any horse he had seen before and it had cloven hooves that resembled that of a deer. Its ears were small and pointed, and instead of a horses tail, there was a lionlike tail instead. The tip of the tail and its mane were both quite fluffy in appearance and shone like silver in the sun. The animal's horn was far longer than Fenryn thought it should be.
