Becoming Chloe
The ground seemed to tilt beneath my feet, but I forced a bright smile, desperate not to look pathetic in front of him.
"That was amazing!" I gasped, wiping a strand of hair from my sweaty forehead.
"That's just the warmup," Jaxon replied smoothly, his eyes locked onto mine.
"Come on. Let's hit the Horror Maze."
The horror place was housed inside a dimly lit tent at the back of the grounds. The entrance was shaped like a giant, distorted skull, breathing out thick fog.
The moment we stepped inside, total darkness swallowed us. The maze was a sensory nightmare. The floors shifted unpredictably beneath our feet, and walls of tattered fabric brushed against my face.
