Grown Ups 2: Bus Driver Novels & Stories

~Zara Todd’s POV~ “Will you get up or get down? You kids are keeping us late,” the driver of the bus shouts at us while we stand in the way. “I think we don’t want to get on the bus, thank you,” I say as I hold both of their hands and get off and in no seconds the bus moves away from there leaving us the just the weird and disgusting smell of its mobil from behind. I keep on looking at it like I am going to cry.

Every time the bus hit a bump his thigh pressed against Dima’s massive one, and he flinched like it burned. Jaxon sprawled across two seats opposite, legs spread wide, smirking at the rookie’s obvious nerves. Marek sat beside Jaxon, calm as ever, scrolling through scouting reports on his tablet like nothing had happened. Like he hadn’t fucked Jaxon bent over a bench in front of a trembling twenty-year-old just hours ago. The bus driver called back, “Next stop in forty. Try not to destroy my vehicle, boys.” A few tired laughs from the front. Then silence again.

I'd thought that maybe this trip would change things, that this would be the start of something for us. But here I was again, empty-handed. I swallowed hard and turned my face toward the window. Maybe tomorrow would be better. -- “Wake up.” The voice came again, louder this time, my eyes snapped open as I jolted up from the hard bus seat. "Huh? What the…?" I blinked, confused and disoriented. The bus was empty, like completely empty. Everyone was gone. The driver, a middle-aged guy with tired eyes, leaned over and said, “Miss, we’re here, this is the last stop.”

ideon's eyes gleaned golden as he let his wolf come forward to sharpen his senses with a low growl he turned and began to run, 'This one Luke.' He yelled jumping in front of a Greyhound bus with 'ALASKA' emblazoned across its destination plate forcing its driver to slam on his brakes with a loud curse, 'What the fuck?'

But once the topic of Grandma ended, silence ensued once again. Even the driver, navigating the car from the front, found the atmosphere incredibly strange. The tension was so thick when they got into the car, it seemed like they were on the verge of an explosive argument. Yet not only did they refrain from fighting, but they also discussed Mrs. Qin's condition amicably. The driver had just internally remarked on the unpredictability of married life when the couple fell silent again, the atmosphere returning to its former chill. The driver: "..." Better not to ponder things beyond comprehension. He focused on his driving.

Rufus said, gesturing to the shadowy figures that were coming out of the pine woods on both sides of the road. "Open the door, Coach, I'll go out first and Jayden will come out after me with the seniors, so you stay with the younger guys inside and make sure nobody tries to be a hero," I ordered, and I heard Jayden move up behind me, his breathing heavy as he prepared for the fight. “You heard the man, let's go move some trash,” Jayden muttered as the door hissed open. I climbed out onto the gravel the first thing I heard was a deep, guttural growl from the shadows and then a big man with rough hair and a jagged scar running across his throat came into the light of the bus’s headlights.

I wonder how long I’m going to have to wait. As my mind continues to run through all the things that has happened today, my eyelids slowly droop before completely closing. *** “Zee. Wake up. Its time to go.” I slowly open my eyes and find a bus driver standing in front of me. I can’t get much information from him besides his name is Gus, or at least that is what is writing on his uniform, along with the spattering of gray hairs telling me he is older. Groggily, I wipe my eyes and mumble, “Did you need something?”

God, it still hurt. “You’re too soft, Elara.” His voice played in my head again. “You wouldn’t last a day without me.” Guess we’re about to find out. A loud screech pulled my eyes forward. The bus rolled in, darker than the sky. The headlights flickered once, then dimmed as it stopped in front of me. The driver stepped out, but didn’t say anything. Just stared straight ahead. He looked… lifeless. “Is this—uh—Nightbane?” I asked, my voice small.
