Looked at me. “Ms. Sterling,” he said. “Clara,” He looked at me for a moment. “He was terrible at tutoring sessions,” he said. “Everyone knew it was never actually about the tutoring.”

So for that reason the rest of the class period you will be doing pages 236-258 on the Gastropoda’s themselves.” He motionless said, flipping his cloak at us.

I kneel, mouth open and tongue splayed out. I want to be the perfect student now. I have to make up for how bad I was before. Mr. Galloway stands up. I chuckle lowly to myself, admiring how his nervousness makes him like a cute squirrel even if he’s bigger than I am. The class ends once the bell finally rings and every one rushes out of class as soon as the teacher walks out. I stand up, picking my books and getting ready for Shifting class. I don’t know what that’s about but I guess I’m about to find out. “Hey!” Gabe calls out again just as I’m about to leave the classroom, rushing up to my side while I walk. He immediately matches my much slower walking pace.
