Paula asked as she held a pen and pad at the ready. “Get me a cheeseburger on wheat bread with tomato, lettuce and fries,” Carter said. Paula scribbled. “I want two bean and beef burritos with the hot stuff and sour cream on the side,” Goldman ordered. “Ugh, God,” Carter groaned. “Okay, y’all.” Paula said and left to put in their order. “You’re going to be farting for the rest of the shift,” Carter grumbled with dismay. He could roll down the windows but still. For the past few months, Goldman’s gas had become legendary at the station when he ate Mexican food – and beans in general.

"And candy?" "Gummy bears. The sour ones." I ordered at the concession stand, watching the teenager pile butter onto popcorn that could feed a small army. Madison grabbed napkins, lots of them, clearly preparing for an inevitable mess. Ethan carried his gummy bears with reverence. "Can I eat them during the movie?"

I laugh, grabbing my money and heading towards the door. “We have a shack burger, a ten piece nuggets and two fries. That will be $15.70” The guy reads, handing me the bag. “Thank you so much, have a nice day” I smile, taking the bag from him. “You too hot stuff” He smirks. “Babe, are you coming?” Daniel yells. “Yeah, be up in a minute” I call back. “I have a boyfriend. Maybe you’ll have better luck next time” I roll my eyes, closing the door.
