Gwen called. “I’m here,” I answered quickly. I don’t want to get into trouble by not answering on time. I don’t want to face an angry Gwen again. “Guess what I just found out?” She asked as soon as she stepped in. “What?” I got up from the ground and quickly took her to the balcony. The room had dust and paint smell everywhere. “What?” I asked, using the hand towel to clean my hand. “Sheila is getting engaged! Can you believe that?” She asked excitedly. Her eyes were shining with joy and I didn’t want to act like a douchebag. I already knew about her engagement but because Gwen was so happy about it I had to act surprised.

After a brief moment, she raised her eyes and looked at him. There were tears in her eyes. Gwynn had gone through a lot of stuff that was eerily similar to her history. Naturally, she resonated with her and felt sorry for her. That was why she stayed at Silvercrest for a week. However, she didn’t get to see Noah because he took Gwynn out of the country. Her voice was hollow as she spoke to him. “Gwynn’s pregnant!” Liam was shocked to the core at what she said.

Patting her hand in pity, I tried to comfort her, “I am so sorry Gwen. You are innocent in all of this. I don’t know what they wanted but thankfully they were unsuccessful.” Gwen was crying as she pleaded, “Thank you, can I go now? I will quit this job. I will go back to the Valley. I just want to go home.” I smiled at her, trying to comfort her, “I am from Valley too. Don’t worry, I will take you there personally but please you have to wait and hide. Can you tell me about the man? How did he looked?”

"Help! Murder! I've just been assaulted by my son-in-law! He actually shoved me over some homewrecker! Everyone, come look at this!" She sat on the ground, kicking and thrashing, wailing at the top of her lungs in a piercing, theatrical voice. Before she could finish her tirade, Gwen suddenly rushed over and clamped a hand over Mrs. Blanchard's mouth. "Mom, stop it!" Mrs. Blanchard froze, staring at Gwen in utter confusion. "Silly girl, what's wrong with you? Don't tell me you've actually fallen for that good-for-nothing Ernest?" Gwen stamped her foot in exasperation and hissed under her breath, "Dad, Mom—that woman next to Ernest is the heiress of Swanson Group!"
