It is an indication of the fact that our borders are not well guarded' The Alpha insisted. Grandma Gina returned, holding in her hand the book that had the picture of all of us. She opened to the page the girl was drawn and passed it to the Alpha who in return passed it round. They looked speechless. 'What is going on? Where did you get this book from?' My dad asked. ' It was said that it was made out of magic. A witch was said to have made copies of this book to the very first Waiters.' ' How many of this book are out there?' The Alpha asked.

Nicolette asked, staring in awe. I shuddered, not a fan, and hissed, “Gypsy scavengers.” Tugging on her hand, I compelled her to retreat with me. “Come on. We don’t want to be discovered by them.” “Why not? Who are they?” she repeated, backing away as I did. “Magical folk,” I told her. “But the lowest of low. They’re the ones who don’t pass purity tests or get chosen to work in castles for kings and queens and the like.”

Alexander’s men were in every open space , so trying to sneak to the stables was almost an impossible mission – but my kind hearted people helped us to hide. Creating a spark , makes the sticks explode with fury fire. It had awaken from it’s death sleep , roaring promises to devour anything that touches it. I heard the soldiers toy with my people – which made my blood boil. They scared them , taunted them and playfully swayed the lit stick before their eyes. I had watched the way my people took steps back from the fire touch , but this only invited the soldiers to cruelly mock them by stepping closer. I am brought back from the nightmare that will surely reply in my head over and over again

“I might be able to help recommend some books relating to the topic.” Given where my head had just been, the request came easy to me. “Do you have anything on… the Goddess?” I asked, turning to look at him, my expression instantly becoming serious. “And I don’t mean those vague books I’ve already read in the library before. I mean… actual information. Like that book I saw you use for my confirmation.” He gave me another knowing look before he went about pulling a few from the shelves. Eventually, after a few minutes had passed, he handed me over four different ones; all of which looked far older than I felt comfortable touching. They looked almost fragile enough to break by just breathing on

I find myself sitting upright , listening intently to what was beginning to unfold. “ As I cried , I felt this magnificent power shoot through me. It was scary as I saw a flower shooting up from the pot plant of soil that laid barren on our balcony for so many days. I remember rushing to your father , waking him from his sleep to tell him what happened. As days went by , your father and I stayed busy at the library , finding any information that could explain what had been happening. Eventually , we stumbled on to the truth – I am a witch Rosemary , my parents must have been a witch and wizard.” I listen to her , flabbergasted. Witches are said to be evil and vile creatures , but here she is

Briarcrest did not like losing control. Nyx realized that the moment the summons arrived. It came folded in thick ivory paper, slipped beneath the door of her dormitory room sometime before dawn. No seal. No signature. Just the academy’s crest embossed in faint silver across the corner. She found it when she stepped out of bed. The paper waited on the floor like it had been watching her sleep. Nyx crouched and picked it up. Inside, a single line was written in precise black ink.

They were all beautiful and made the whole book look very impressive. The edges of the pages were gilt in two shades of gold, with a pattern of flames. And there was a large leather and gold clasp holding it closed which was engraved with more motifs of flames. The corners also each had a gold triangular brace, each with another fire opal in. Eliza stares at the book in wonder,

“You looked like the world was ending.” “It felt like it.” My hands moved down his chest, exploring. “Your turn.” He kissed my forehead, then my temple. “I almost quit last year. Burned out. The quiet gets heavy sometimes. But then this girl kept showing up, asking smart questions about old manuscripts. Made the days better.” “Me?” I asked, smiling. “You.” His lips found mine again. This kiss had heat behind it. His tongue brushed mine, and I melted into him. My back hit the bookshelf gently. A few books shifted but didn’t fall.

As Misty clumsily fumbled for her keys when she went to open the door, the older gentleman said, “Excuse me, ma’am, I have this for you.” There I saw it, the beautiful golden envelope he placed in my hand as he walked away made me feel like I was flying. It was like someone had given me a breath for the first time, and I could not wait to open theenvelope to find out when the next beautiful person's party was. By the time I got inside, I had collapsed on the couch without ever opening the invitation to this realm of debauchery and pure bliss that I was now a part of. ******

So Proserpina moves on to the next row, then the next one, and the next one, on and on until she was literally kneeling like a child on the floor when she finally comes across a book third to the last on the bottom row in between a skinny book and leather bound one; the book was silver-gray, small and light in her hands and the cover seemed to have some sort of glossy material in it as it twinkled when she turned it here and there… ‘Kind of a child’s storybook,’ she noted. The book was almost as big as her palm and seemed to have pages as what one would expect from a novelette. She carefully opens it up to the first page–not wanting to have a repeat of another destroyed book because a destro
