I crouched by the edge, dipping my fingers in, and stared at my reflection.
For a moment, it wasn’t mine.
The face that looked back had my eyes, but they were darker — shadowed, filled with the same cruel amusement I thought I’d burned away.
“Aaron,” I breathed.
The reflection smirked. “Miss me?”
I stumbled back, heart pounding, but the reflection stayed, his voice curling through the air like smoke.
“You didn’t destroy me, Kora. You carried me with you.”
“Get out,” I hissed. “Get out of my head.”
