Harper’s POV My leg knocks into something, and it clatters to the ground. “Crap,” I mutter bleach spills out faster than I can catch it. The clear liquid rushes out of the bottle, spilling everywhere. By the time I stand the bottle back up, a large puddle sits in the middle of the floor. I grab for some rags, but there aren’t enough to soak up the entire spill. The acidic scent of bleach fills the air and sends my head spinning.

Every second that ticks by is another chance for someone to walk in, to see this nightmare. I stumble toward the kitchen, my legs unsteady, the pain in my head a constant drumbeat. The linoleum is cold under my bare feet, and I brace myself against the counter, my breath coming in short, sharp gasps. I need to clean this up little by little before they arrive, at least enough to buy time until he and his crew arrive. I yank open the cabinet under the sink, pulling out a bottle of bleach, a sponge, and a pair of rubber gloves. My hands tremble as I slip the gloves on, the rubber snapping against my wrists. he yelled. "Anything else? Shit? Jerk?" Lynn continued laughing. "You can't even cuss, Mahone. How are you going to make an infinite mirror, huh? Listen, you better get out from this damn room, or I am going to call Father. He's in his study room." Mahone put down his safety glasses and stood up, shooting a passionate glance at his project, "Tu es horrible frère!" Lynn heard that and laughed in mind. "Use at least seventy percent alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, bleach, isopropyl alcohol and wipe the sheets with a microfiber cloth. A cloud of fumes filled her lungs, choking her. She used the sleeve of her blouse as a mask, attempting to filtrate the air. Her eyes burned as she looked over the room. There was an open container of bleach laying on its side, now clearly emptied. The contents had been launched sporadically in every direction. Some of her clothes were speckled with orange and yellow spots where the liquid had bled into the fabric, and in other areas, she could still see where pools had formed on the carpet underneath the clothes from where the chemical had been poured directly onto them. They were all discolored and ruined. Jade backed out of the room and closed the door, gasping for a breath of air.

I can only base on his footsteps that’s keeping up with my speed. I walked faster and saw a Haunted House in the middle of the mall. I remembered that it’s nearly Halloween and the mall opened an early Halloween special so I decided to get in. I paid for my ticket I listened to the guy’s footsteps following me. “AAAHHH!!!” I faked a scream as a supposedly ghost jumped in front of me wearing an all-white gown and ghost make-up.

Everybody has gone, even the rest of the guards. A car horn startles me and I quicken my attempts at searching for where the bleach is kept. I walk into the kitchen and I look around frantically. I see a small door and I jog towards it and open it. Bingo! There are shelves of soap, disinfectants, other products, but most importantly, bleach! I grab the small gallon of bleach and I jog back out of the kitchen quickly. As I walk through the living room so I can go upstairs and prepare the syringe, I spot Robert talking to someone at the entrance of the house.

Pumpkins had started showing up around the ward. Not real ones, but plastic, hollow, and too bright, but still pumpkins. Someone had taped paper bats along the hallway bulletin board, and the cafeteria offered watery orange punch they called “spooky brew.” It was almost Halloween, and Naya couldn’t stop thinking about how, this time last year, she’d been at Adrian’s office party, dressed in black silk, drinking real champagne. Now she was in paper slippers, eating Jell-O that looked like blood but tasted like cherry cough syrup.

In the bathroom Lillah stared at her clothes, rumpled on the floor. Pour bleach on them if you're so worried, Neeri piped up, helpful but unsympathetic to Lillah’s clean-up efforts. You can deal with them later then. After coating the discarded garments with copious bleach rather than picking them up and having to take another shower because of the scent transfer, Lillah set about grabbing a brush to sweep up the trail of rubble she’d left through her quarters. You know what we should have done… Neeri grinned mercilessly, asked Kurt to come clean up.

But the lemon smell is overpowered by the horrible scent permeating the room. “What’s that awful smell?” I say, waving my hand in front of my nose. “It sucks to have a sensitive wolf nose right about now,” Callan says. “This is bleach. It’s the only thing I could think of to get the bloodstains off the floor.” “Is Ethan okay?” I ask, sitting my backside on one of the chairs. “Other than a bad hangover, he’ll be fine by tomorrow.” Callan grabs a pink-stained towel and wipes the water and bleach from the floor.
