Marked by fate
I squint, Zanthe lending me her vision.
They are almost identical. They look like they're made from melted cutlery or something, and I smirk to myself. That's probably exactly what they're made from.
One of them has an extra-long post and a broader collar, while the other is more streamlined.
Those differences I can at least feel in the dark.
I grab the chunkier one and slide it into the handcuffs on Jen's wrists, wriggling it about, but nothing happens. It won't engage.
So I pull it out and try the other one. It slots home straight away, and there's a faint click as I turn it and the cuffs unlock.
