Was it directed at me or just a general mean-girl thing? “Hey, nerd…” someone said behind me. His voice had a British accent. Sexy. I’ve always wished I had that accent too. “Nerd,” he repeated, tapping my shoulder and pulling me out of my thoughts. “What?” I snapped, turning around. It was him — the boy who just came in. And up close? He was dangerously beautiful. From his slicked-back hair to his mariner-blue eyes that sparkled with mischief and youth, he looked like he belonged on a magazine cover. His lips curved into a perfect smile, revealing dazzling white teeth, and his cologne — warm and loamy — teased my senses.

Oh, they both sound bad. “No!” I crossed my arms, leaning on the cave wall. His mouth pursed into a thin line. “You will see me naked!” His shoulders shrugged, his arms reached back behind his head, only showing off his biceps and chest muscles. He was slightly hairy, not grossly so; he had that rough look that I really liked. Here I thought I would like a nerd. I may or may not have dreamed of running my fingers through his long hair, not to mention his beard while we slept. For shame, I thought that way about my rescuer in such a way.

The lecturer was stranded and confuse as well as he couldn't believe what he was seeing. A guy who was sited close to him stated loudly as he immediately withdraw himself from him immediately he sighted the lecturer walking in.

I could not hold back the small smile that played on my lips. Sh*t! Who would have thought that a handsome heartthrob like him would send a friend request to someone as ugly as me? I am just a typical nerd girl with brain to match. I'm not bragging, but I am a consistent honor in my school and probably, I inherited that intelligence from my father.

He was Date Number One in my slightly desperate campaign for a husband. On a normal day, he wasn't my type at all. But I had promised myself I would keep an open mind. He was a nerd, definitely good-looking, with a lean, thin build, and an aggressive passion for comics and anime. I knew that because he’d spent the last forty-five minutes dropping anime character names into the conversation like it was a normal thing to do, constantly checking to see if I could follow the trail.

And as usual, I put on my b*tch face. "Come on. I know you want to give me your number, Miss Beautiful." Said the one that is wearing a sleeveless shirt and has three earrings on his left ear. "Nope, we're sorry. We're not available." Becca said while raising an eyebrow at them. "Oh really? You sure you won't? You're wasting the chance to have a hot boyfriend." He said again and winked at me. I think he’s the leader of this group since the other boys are just staring.

I recognized them, one to be exact, he was one of the people i was supposed to reach out too- i inhaled and with a smile plastered on my face. “Mr. Nickerson.” i said and the laugh around the three died down replaced with eyes which were very much interested in me. Nickerson, blonde hair, olive green eyes and sharp jawlines that would make any woman swoon, he was way taller than me but not tall enough to beat Arthur, he was extremely buff and as he moved his hands, his muscles flexed under his suit. “What do we have here?” he said as he accessed me shamlessly, his friends did the same thing too and i cleared my throat drawing their attention back to my face.

One of those D1 athletes. “You’re totally a jock, ” I snickered. “You must have been a fratboy in college.” He leaned back on the railing of the lift and raised an eyebrow. “A fuckboy, you have the vibe,” I tease him. “Au contraire, I was a nerd,” he said proudly. “What?” I find it hard to believe. “With this whole….thing,” I gesture to his overall looks, wealth, and attitude, “You were a nerd?” “Yeah, I was even a loner. I still am,” he led us to a black pickup truck. I guess every engineer is required to have one.

It feels like ages already. I pound hard again. “Helloooo! Hiii—” The door swings open just as I lean in for another pound. And I fall face forward into the house. “Oh, damn,” I groan as I roll onto my back, spreading my arms and legs eagle-style. The eyes looking down at me knock the breath out of me. Deep, mocking brown orbs glistening from behind a pair of square glasses. “Jade, are you drunk?” I frown at the hot nerd that stands there in nothing but low-waist pants, staring down at me. He’s everything fantasy with a face and body sculpted like a Norseman’s. Drop-dead sexy.
