Jaxon. God, even his name sounded like trouble. The golden boy of campus. Hockey captain. Broad shoulders, sharp jawline, hair that always fell effortlessly into place like some commercial. He was the boy girls whispered about in locker rooms. The boy I never thought would even look at me, not when I was the nerd who hid behind thick lenses and over-washed cardigans. But now, here he was, half-dressed, trousers hanging low on his hips, the room spinning with the sour, heavy scent of alcohol clinging to his breath. His weight hovered over me, warm and too close.

Alicia smiled, turning her gaze to Hilda who was just as worried but was somehow having her shit together. “Can you blame me?" Alicia sassed. “You gave birth to a very gorgeous nerd, mum.” Hilda chuckled. She does love hearing Alicia call Theo a nerd because it means she accepts him fully for who he is. “And that nerd will fight the devil if need be, just to come back to you.” Alicia leaned and placed her head on Hilda's lap.

Then I decided on a pair of black knee-length boots. I curled my hair and pulled it all to one side and braided one piece on the top so it was like a crown. I walked downstairs just as there was a knock on the door. "Hey,” he said, smiling, leaning against the doorframe. “Hi.” I smiled back. Everyone saw a bad boy or a player or whatever they wanted to classify him as but really he was nothing but a big dork. A cute one at that, but still a dork. I guess that’s why they always say the nerd gets on so well with the player.

He was just a kid with a gift from God. I had a big crush on him when we first met; he was fourteen, adorable, blue eyes, blonde hair, with a cute smile and I was nerdy twelve years old. It was more than just a crush so I told him, but he turned me off and told me he just wanted to be my friend. I was sad for days and I asked him if he was gay or into guys. He laughed and just said he knew we weren’t going to last. I didn’t push him and I just stayed as just his friend but once in a while, he’d warn me of certain things and people.

He’ll be popular the second that bell rings so I won’t be getting fond of him anytime soon. After a few minutes, he decided to break the ice, “And you are?” “Nerd.” I told him simply. He chuckled lightly before realizing that I was serious and it turned into a frown. “That can’t be right.” He muttered to me. I shrugged in response, “It’s what people call me so it just sticks after a while.” “Okay, what do your friends call you then?” “Freak.” “Oh come on.” He groaned lowly.

Liam trailed off suggestively, implying unsavory escapades. "Totally," Cindy chimed in, her tone as phony as her lashes. "We're old pals. If you're struggling, speak up. With your background—no college, no sharp clothes—you might bomb interviews. Want me to take you shopping? I can spot you cash. You were a whiz kid. It's a shame seeing you like this." Shannon stayed silent, her nails digging into her wine stem. Her intense gaze bore into me like lasers. Her boyfriend, Zach Fuller, leaned forward with condescending pity and open disdain.

Shelly said. "Hit it girl the phone is on speaker Cindy can hear you too." "Did we watch Nerdy Glasses on the day of my birthday?" She asked. The girls laughter rang over the phone. "Is there a movie titled that?" "Yeah about a nerd girl and stuff like that," Shelly explained. "Well be sure to let us know when it's out ok. I'd like to watch it." Cindy said over the phone. "Ok I'll just search it online and send the videos to you guys," Shelly replied.

You smiled. "Thanks, Nerd." Nate laughed. "You need a new name for me now because the guys call me nerd." You laughed. "I'll think of one." Nate laughed. "Goodnight, Nate." You laughed. "Goodnight, Nerd." Nate pressed a kiss on your forehead, and you drift off.
