There is a little human growing in my tummy. I must say Liam is even more excited than I am and he doesn't look mad at all. His voice was steady and sincere, as though nothing had changed between us, like the heartbreak had never occurred, and we were still the family we once were. Maybe they could pretend that nothing had shifted. But I couldn't.

We visit often and try to keep in touch as much as possible. I have not married yet and I also do not have anyone special in my life as well as you can say that I am married to my job. I don't know if this has been an advantage or a disadvantage but I am happy to know that we do not currently have any open case files of children waiting to be found or solved anywhere on my desk. It was also sad in a way because it meant that it was time for me to say goodbye to my partner who has decided to move with his family.
