" Malakai smirked when he thought of the answer. "We're ghosts baby." Malakai responded and Eden wanted to laugh, but she was so confused at the same time. "Huh? The fuck do you mean?" Eden said and looked up to see a mischievous glint in her boyfriend's eyes. "I have someone, a hacker, his name is Rhys. He'd remove everyone's DNA, their information and everything there is about them off the systems of the world. When you joined the agency, he did the same. In short, we don't exist little one." Malakai said and Eden's eyes widened. She never knew the extent to which Malakai could go.

He said. Aunt Nancy pressed another button and the heartbeats were loud and clear on the mic. Dante looked at the screen like he was looking for something. He pointed to the screen when Twin B popped up. “So, that’s my wolf.” He said, pointing at Twin B. “Twin A is the pure human.” “Seen the heartbeat pumping, huh?” Dante asked, chuckling. “Hell yeah.” Dominic said. “That shit was beating fast.” Removing the camera from my belly, Aunt Nancy turned the machine off and looked at me.

“They allowed you to win in opposition to the Watchers.” I whispered, “…Why?” The Harbinger’s voice lowered. “To see in case you have been ready.” Ethan inhaled sharply. “Ready for what?” The Harbinger’s subsequent words hit like a sledgehammer. “To be rewritten.” Rachel took a step lower back . “Oh, hell no.” Vanessa’s voice becomes lethally calm. “They need to update us.” The Harbinger nodded. “They will now no longer damage your world.” “They will erase what you had been and construct you into something else.”

The mark on my wrist glowed, soft at first, then brighter, threads of light spiraling up my arm like veins of fire. When I spoke, the words weren’t entirely mine. They came from somewhere deeper ancient and cold, a place between heartbeat and silence. “I am the Harbinger,” I said, voice echoing through the cavern. “Bearer of the Moon’s flame. I do not bow to shadow or to god. My blood is oath, my light is blade, and I swear upon both this night, none shall take what is mine.” The mark flared. A surge of power shot through the floor, rippling outward like an earthquake. The walls hummed, the runes on the altar blazing to life after centuries of sleep.

The Threshold started collapsing immediately. Chunks of the world itself broke apart around us, falling upward into the darkness above. The cracked Warden looked completely terrified now. “They sent a Harbinger.” The giant shape continued emerging slowly. White eyes, black limbs. A body that seemed made from shifting void and dying stars. And at its center, a massive glowing fracture pulsed like an heartbeat. The Harbinger. The Architect lowered its head before the creature in total submission. The little girl backed away toward the silver door.

Ezra, his eyes fixed on the Harbinger, retorted, "You underestimate the resilience of our creation. The echoes will withstand your darkness." Cassia, her pendant pulsating with renewed energy, added, "Your time is over. This realm belongs to harmony, not chaos." Liora, her blade gleaming, stepped forward. "You're alone now, Harbinger. Your influence ends here." Niamh, her senses attuned to the shifting energies, warned, "Stay vigilant. It might have one final trick up its sleeve." The Harbinger, surrounded by a swirling vortex of shadows, chuckled ominously. "You cannot comprehend the depth of the void. It is eternal, and so am I."

Elara and the witch coven stood nearby, their faces etched with determination and fear. "Emily!" Nathanial ran to me, relief and concern mingling in his eyes. "Did you find it?" I held up the relic, its glow pulsating with barely-contained energy. "Yes, but we have a bigger problem. The Harbinger has been awakened. It's coming for us." Gasps and murmurs spread through the gathered crowd. Elijah stepped forward, his voice firm. "We need to fortify our defenses and protect our key figures. The Harbinger will target our leaders to sow chaos."

"No matter what." Harbinger smiled. Then the sky was filled with a deep rumble. I looked up. "What was that?" The heavens were illuminated by a line of fire. A star that is descending. However, it wasn't typical. The color was deep crimson. It hummed, too. The Harbinger rose quickly. His face turned white. He remarked, "That's not just a star." "What is it?" Grasping my son more tightly, I asked. The Harbinger said, "Something older than the god we fought." "Something that ought to have slept."

And without another word, she turned and disappeared into the trees. I stood there motionless for a second. It was now dark and Atlas and I needed to get home before any other creatures decided to target us. I nodded at Atlas, signalling my command for him to shift. My large white wolf tore out of me, relived to be let out after being made so angry and frustrated by the encounter with the seer. I raced through the night, closely followed by Atlas's black wolf who I could tell was also happy to be released. I went over the seer’s words in my head. Hybrids were very rare as the races of supernatural beings hated each other. If hybrids did occur, they were outcasts and viewed as the lowest of t
