I stepped out, smoothed my simple yellow sundress, and walked toward the crowd like I belonged there. That’s when I noticed him. He leaned against a black Harley, his arms crossed, watching the stage. Tall, broad shoulders under a worn black t-shirt, dark ink covering both arms,tribal patterns mixed with something that looked like old scars turned art. His jaw was sharp, stubble thick, his hair cropped short. Brooding. The kind of guy who didn’t need to say much to make people pay attention. An enforcer patch sat on his vest.

The whole place had a pulse of excitement and anticipation. The tailors gave me the clothes for tonight. It is a three-piece suit made from wool that matches our eye color, blue, and silver. They embroidered the sleeves with symbols of our pack, the triskele. “Alarick!” I shouted as a lot of werewolves also occupied the tavern. “Ylva’s looking for you.” Alarick nodded and went in my direction. Everything isn't made out of candy but scary masks, make-up, and costumes. I look at the teen aisle, searching for the perfect couple costume for me and Logan to wear, but teenager costumes can't fit these huge thighs of mine. And Logan is too massive to wear anything smaller than his large frame. "Hey, Effie, why don't you and Logan be Batman and Catwoman?" Lily held up two costumes. I stare at the Catwoman costume with the picture of a slim brunette hair lady with the same skin color as Halle Berry, who wore the outfit when she portrayed the character in the movie.
