Instead of giving me a response, mother stepped aside and immediately, the door creaked open, revealing Harriet.
Though the picture of how it happened was gradually forming in my head, I was finding it difficult to believe it.
Harriet's eyes locked onto mine, and I could see the hatred burning within them. Her scent had changed, too - it was no longer the sweet, innocent aroma I remembered. Now, it was dark and poisonous, like my army.
"Harriet, what's going on?" I asked, trying to keep my voice calm.
Falling to her knees, she buried her head, “I promise to serve you until the very end.” She said, causing me to tilt my head to the side, wondering what she was up to.
