Arian's pov I never thought a book club meeting could feel like a battlefield. Today, we are reading The Art of Forbidden by Linda Lively, and from the very moment I flipped through its pages, my face had been hot. The story is about a powerful president who was secretly in love with his male secretary, and if that wasn’t bold enough, the prose was filled with intimacy, longing, and heat. Naturally, everyone thought it would be for people to take turns reading aloud. But I wasn't really in the mood to read, not after what the police said to me.

With the aid of my thumb and my index fingers, I picked out the book, ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I walked to the windows and parted both curtains sideways, giving up space for sunlight and fresh air. I plopped onto my bed, my back against the ceiling and I placed my elbows on a pillow and the book in front of my face, just in place for a nice time with myself and the author. As I read through lines, my eyes brightened with delight and my mind wandered far away into the world of fantasy. I After I was done with the first page, I flipped to the second when I heard a tingling sound in the kitchen. It sounded like heavy kitchen equipment like a stainless steel bowl had hit the gro

“So what about magical creatures are we learning about today?” She grins at me before dropping a heavy book down in front of me, “History of magic creatures!” I put my face in my hands and groan, Drago chuckles from where he’s found a comfortable spot to watch us, a book in his hand. I raise my eyebrow at him, “Harry Potter?” He gives me a sheepish smile, “Don’t spoil it, I’m only on the Prisoner of Askaban.” I laugh and turn back to Serena. “Alright we’re here so let's begin.”

“I’ve never really thought about it.” “Ali,” she sighs. “Have you even read a good spicy book?” “You mean p**n?” I ask her over a row of glittery vibrators. “Yes I mean p**n!” She exclaims. “Good old fashioned p**n! With some monsters maybe. I feel like you’d enjoy a good monster fucker book.” “I.. don’t know about that.” “Alright,” she says loudly. “There’s a book section over there. Let’s find you a nice steamy one.”

I straddled him to deepen the kiss when we heard a whistle behind us. “If I had known you guys would give this kind of show, I would’ve brought popcorn.” I broke away to see George and Harry walking towards them. I jumped up to greet them, pulling them both into a hug. “What are you guys doing here?!” “You think we’ll leave you going against a crazy witch without our help. Besides, I have never seen a grimoire up close before,” Harry said with a sparkle in his eye. I looked at George, who rolled his eyes as Harry gushed about the books Mirja let him keep.

I said, which made Cyrus’ eyes grow wide. “You’ve actually seen Harry fucking Potter?!” “I’ve read it. I have kids and grandkids. I need to know the things they know. Besides, even though the author was a dumbass, it’s a pretty cool story.” Cyrus nodded, “it is, right?” He winked at me. “But don’t fucking worry. I’ll die first, so I’ll let you know what it’s like.” “Don’t make jokes about that!” April said, slapping Cyrus’ arm, who pretended to be more hurt than he actually was.

June’s POV “You need to go out more, Harry. You just can’t keep hiding inside forever, the weather is so nice and you can’t afford to waste such a good day indoor” This is actually the tenth time I’ll be asking Harry to go out and stop staying indoor all day with me reading him boring books like medical books. Even though those books might end up being helpful to me, that’s if I decide to go back to medical school. I still find those books boring.
