My son needed help, but I didn’t even know where to begin. Before I could say more, Harry spun on his heel and started toward his room, his small shoulders stiff with anger. “Harry,” I called after him. He didn’t stop. Didn’t even glance back. The sound of his door closing echoed like a warning. This was serious. First Bae’s memory loss, now Harry seeing someone who didn’t exist. My mind raced. Maybe the Pack witch could help. The first time he mentioned Olena was during the ritual, right in the middle of it he’d whispered about a crush on her. Whatever this was, it started that night.

Fancy handwriting on expensive paper. "To educate you on your new archetype." What the hell? I looked at all the books again. And it hit me. These were all stories about girls who got taken. Girls who fell for their captors. Beauty trapped in the Beast's castle. Jane Eyre with creepy Rochester. Christine with the Phantom. He thinks I'm going to fall in love with him. He actually thinks this is some kind of love story. "You're insane!" I yelled throwing the book across the floor. "I'm not a character in your sick fantasy!"

I have a notebook full of ideas, story segments just waiting for the right piece to fit into. I've conceived many new universes. I have a love story planned that I hope will make your heart skip a beat, between two young people wounded by the world. A horror story that I hope will take your breath away, with its demons. A fantasy that I hope will transport you to a world of mysterious creatures and strange rites.

It felt like invisible handcuffs were holding my wrists above my head and my ankles spread wide apart. Tears streamed down my face, my heart racing at the fact that I was completely trapped. “Guys! Something’s holding me down! Help! Something crazy's going on!!" My friends were still banging on the door, panicking. “Sophia? We’re trying to get in! Just hold on!” A foggy, shadowy figure materialized at the foot of the bed. Tall, dark, with glowing silver eyes. I knew it wasn't human, the shape was all wrong — too fluid with too many limbs shifting in the darkness.

Orion snorted, sending a spray of toothpaste into his beard. "Harriet, what kind of half-baked remark was that?" I shot her a dirty look. Harriet was losing her touch, if that's all she could come up with as an amusing comment. "You know, in Harry Potter, Harry could hear the snake moving around in the pipes." Harriet shook her head as she crossed her arms defensively. "I could hear you through the pipes. You guys were so loud I couldn't hear the echo of my own moans." I hopped to my feet and waddled over to the couch. I placed the back of my hand on Harriet's forehead. "No, you don't have a fever. Harriet, honey, I think that's the stupidest thing I have ever heard you say."
