I felt satisfied with what I was holding and took it out of the closet with me so I could wear it for dinner. After I was done picking out my outfit I decided to go back to the black book that my teacher gave me and try to see if I could teach myself a spell. I held the book in my hand for a few seconds before finally opening it. I could feel a small smile on my face when the book opened easily. When I looked inside the book I saw that there was one spell on the first page of the book. I could feel a frown replace the smile on my face. I couldn’t understand why the spell Shadow was the first thing I had to learn. What does it even do?

The words, ‘Property of Ismene’s Library’, were stamped on the very first page. I jumped right in, reading about a seemingly ordinary girl thrust into a strange game of magic, trickery, and mayhem. She’d just boarded a train to some far away land when my eyes began to grow heavy. I continued skimming the book, but the words became choppy as my exhaustion grew. The girl had taken some potion that sent her spiraling into a magic-induced dream. My eyes fell shut as she plummeted off a cliffside, only to snap open when Draco entered the room.

The ground seemed miles away, and my legs trembled at the thought of jumping. Then I saw them—guards, stationed everywhere, their eyes scanning the perimeter. Escape wasn’t going to be easy. The footsteps behind me grew louder, each one hammering into my chest like a countdown. Finally, the doorknob twisted. My breath caught, and my eyes widened in shock. The door creaked open, inch by inch, and I stood frozen, unable to move or even think. Of course, Harry's tall figure stepped in, his eyes scanning the room like he owned every inch of it.

Slowly, the lock began to click open, the sound echoing through the chamber like a triumphant melody. As the final click resonated, the book sprang open, its pages fluttering eagerly as if eager to reveal its secrets. My heart raced with excitement as I leaned forward, peering into the illuminated pages. Symbols and sigils danced before my eyes, ancient words and spells etched into the parchment with precision. "It worked," I breathed, my voice filled with wonder. Alex's eyes gleamed with excitement as he leaned in closer, his gaze scanning the pages intently. "Wait, why can't I see anything? All of the pages are blank."
