But they also described a world of beauty and wonder, where the trees were tall and the rivers were wide. The journal entries described Vee's dark magic, and how it had drawn the attention of the Warlocks. They described the Warlock princesses, and how they had sent their minions after Vee. "Vee was captured by a group of witches," Seth had written. "They didn't know about the Warlock princesses, but they believed Vee was their queen.

She went to work and I got up, standing behind her to offer whatever support that I could. "Oh spirits! I ask that you show me that which I seek. A woman who bears the child of Alpha Leo, the dreaded Alpha King. I want to see where she is right now, lead me right to her" she chanted and threw some magical dust into the pot. A blue smoke appeared and began to fill the room, I covered my nose because the air was getting thick and pungent. I waited for a while, expecting my mother to announce the location of the breeder girl but instead, the smoke vanished and it was almost like we had not done anything. We exchanged a quick glance with a shocked expression plastered on both our faces.

She stopped any wolf she pleased and declared that she would one day stand as Luna Queen, and that anyone who crossed her would regret it. My mother feared she would bring more trouble on the family, so she sent her away to recover in the countryside. Veya disappeared on the way there. No one had found her since. The attendant sighed. “She’s not likely to survive out there.” I said nothing. I only lowered my head and kept trimming the branch in my hands. So this, then, was Veya’s end in this life. A few days later, the chief attendant sent word that the old Alpha King’s order naming Kaelan as next in line would soon be made public.

“No. Veyra isn’t returning to the rogue lands, because she isn’t just anyone. There’s something the packs need to understand about who she is.” This time, I don’t pause. I let the truth roll out, sharp and clear. “Veyra is the Velhara.” The reaction is immediate. Shock ripples across the room. The woman with the mic stumbles over her words. “The Velhara? That’s... that’s a story for pups. It’s not real.” Rael snorts quietly. “You think we’re sitting here risking every ounce of credibility we’ve got just for a story? She is real. We’ve seen it. We’ve felt it. And if you were there two days ago, you would have seen it too.”

And yet, he had no choice but to play along. The ceremony dragged on, with them exchanging reluctant “I do’s” much to Benedict and Dorothea’s relief. When the officiant instructed Jaxon to lift the veil, his heart slowed. The moment of truth. Jaxon’s hands were steady as he reached for the delicate fabric. A hush descended over the room as if the very walls were holding their breath. He lifted the veil, the silk whispering against his fingers, and revealed— Her. Her. Kallista Jones.

She was sitting in a booth, alone, nursing a tall glass of beer, but I noticed that it was almost empty. I approached the bartender to order a pint of beer and carried it over to her, pushing the drink towards her, like an offering of sorts. “So, can you finally tell me about this witch?” I asked right away. I don’t intend to drag it out any longer. “Well, she’s pretty powerful.” Shania’s words were already slurring and it’s just seven in the evening. She took a swig of the cold brew and when she put it down, I saw that she had already drank half of it. “Her name is Vevila Callaghan and she can make potions that do all sorts of things.”

I ask. She holds her hand above the flower, as though about to touch it, yet her fingers never quite meet its petals. “Veilara, it blooms where demon blood has spilled, but only when there’s no magic left, no life left—when the earth itself is dead. A flower that blooms freely only in Vael’Kora.” I’m confused. “Demon blood—” I remember. Hilda. She killed herself here, gave her life for Dagar. “But… I can feel magic all around us,” I say.

"I'm aware of the risks. But I need this potion, for reasons that are my own." The witch's eyes seemed to bore into Clara's soul, as if assessing the truth behind her words. After a pregnant pause, she spoke again. "Very well. I can provide you with the recipe for the Enchanted Veil potion. It can make a man fall deeply in love and blur his memories of the past."

James pointed to a location on the map and said, “Based on the Verde Academy’s intel, one of the Malvada Sect’s bases is situated in this universe. The person in charge of this base is their Deputy Sect Leader.” Waleria interjected, saying, “The Deputy Sect Leader’s name is Laduni Hagar. He’s currently at the Caelum Boundless Rank. He cultivates a very evil art, which absorbs the Blood Essence of other living beings to enhance his strength. He’s not going to be an easy opponent. Many of the Verde Academy’s powerhouses had suffered under his hands. Unfortunately for him, he is going to be up against me.” Waleria’s face was full of excitement. She declared, “Watch how I take him down!”
