And for once, I don’t speak as the Alpha commanding attention, but as a man who’s lived, lost, and found his way again.

I slowed my pace as I began to hear music in the distance… I was getting close. I have always watched the harvest from the heavens. It is the night the packs come together under the alliance of the moon, to set aside their differences, and in some cases call a temporary halt to all-out war in order to pay their respects to my mother, the moon goddess. This is also the night the wolves are most likely to find their fated mate, as all the packs are present.

LUCY The harvest moon was going to be at its peak in a few hours. Damon and I were strolling through the brightly lit city, street vendors all around. It was peaceful. Damon was quiet tonight, not his usual chatty self. The other day when Hunter locked him out affected him. He felt weak, like he couldn't control his wolf.
