With only memories left of their wonderful weekend, Alec, Mia, and Kate gather at Kate's house on Tuesday night after the town meeting to help Alec complete his application for The Bachelor. Alec struggles to keep his hands off Mia. Just the aroma of her proximity unnerved him. Just looking at her, he can see and smell every inch of her body. As he passes Mia, Alec makes a point of grinding against her side with his tight bulge. She turns and gives him a playful slap.

My stiletto heels made a killer statement. Dax drove slow with bikers surrounding us. The conservative snot-nosed townies stared when they passed. The old fogies loved their green and they would get over our display. All that mattered was that I was marrying my man. Moon waited for my arrival and took my arm as Dax and the ladies went into the clubhouse. They would wait with the minister. “Are you ready?” Moon asked gently. I didn’t answer his question yet. “Thank you.” I went to my tiptoes and kissed his cheek.

Ethan dragged me back up to the bedroom where the books were and we sat on the bed going through all of them, trying to find out whatever we could about this ‘Harvest’ thing. “If he doesn’t complete it then he has to wait another 25 years.” Ethan said. “Yeah. But you’re missing something here. It doesn’t say which full moon. There’s a full moon every month. Which one does he need to do ‘The Harvest’? And Nicole died only 2 years ago. Not 25 years ago.” I said.

Headmaster Ronan begins. "Tonight we celebrate the harvest season, & the work that is put in throughout all of the packs worldwide to keep our economy strong & flourishing through the winter season. We honor them, as well as all of you & the work you have put in this school year to ensure a prosperous future not only for your respective packs, but for your kingdom as well. Silence stretched between them, filled only by the song of the moon above. Lena turned fully, her voice soft. "I don’t know what to believe anymore." "Then believe this," Damian whispered. "You’re not alone." He reached for her, and for the first time, she didn’t pull away. She let herself lean into the warmth of his touch, the safety of his embrace. Above them, the Wolf Moon burned bright, bathing them in silver light. Not as enemies. Not as strangers. But as something else. Something beginning. The following day brought no respite.

The existence of the mark proves that something happened between him and someone else. The two go to see the prince who still slumbers. Jake gritted his teeth and went to the buggy. “Marital problems, sir?” Henry grinned. “My problem is that it suddenly occurred to me that there are too many bachelors in this town,” he growled. Henry opened the door of the buggy and let him in. “I like her too. She’s quite charming when she wants to be, but don’t let her get to your head.” He winked and shut the door. She’s not messing with my head. I’m in full control of myself. It’s those vultures out there that are the problem. What was he going to have to do? Lock her in the house for the next five and a half months?

The realization left his chest hollow and cold. Elliot called off his planned confession that night. His closest friend was confused. "Weren't you going to lock it down tonight? Why the sudden change of heart?" Elliot stayed silent for a moment before saying, "Get someone trustworthy to head straight to the Hunting Residence." His friend was even more confused. "The Hunting Residence? Why?" Elliot replied, "We're crashing the wedding." … The Hunting family valued this wedding even more than I had expected. They booked a restaurant so exclusive that even the wealthy couldn't get reservations. As if that weren't enough, they'd even reserved it for three whole days to host their guests.

We leave the dead village behind, but not the dead. Their remnants follow us—a black track winding through the stubble of burned crops and the hunched silhouettes of survivors. The fields beyond the houses look worse than I remember from the last inspection: every stalk mowed down to the root, soil upturned in spastic furrows, as if the earth itself tried to spit out its own heart. I count seven people at work, none older than forty, none younger than the scarred child I spot squatting at the edge of the ditch.
