It never ends well. Obsession is lethal. It creeps in quietly, wrapping itself around you like comfort, but it suffocates in the end. It erases who you were and replaces it with hunger. If I stay, the person I am will disappear, replaced by someone who longs for a violent man, a sadistic killer. Obsession has never been a good trait, and this one terrifies me more than he ever could. More than what happened earlier tonight. Being locked in that office was horrifying, but this is worse. This feels like addiction, deep and consuming.

I replied lightly. He finally smiled. "You're smart. I guess I should read more books now." I chuckled, then asked. "What do you think about it? Love and obsession." He leaned forward, resting his elbow on the table. "I think obsession is a darker form of love. It's more intense than whatever you think love is. It is raw and messy. It doesn't lie the way love does." I stayed quiet, trying to understand him. Well, he had his own perspective just like I had mine.

Finally it's a wrap with the Mafia's Toxic Obsession. This was my hardest book so far, not only was I new into writing this genre, I also faced lots of personal challenges but I'm glad it's over now.
