Ben tried to be normal for the rest of the day. It was more complicated than he expected. Knowing there was a pretty ghost in his house had a way of worming into his thoughts, rearranging them when he wasn’t paying attention. He peeled old wallpaper from the walls, the sound of tearing paper loud in the quiet house, but his mind wandered anyway. He thought about her eyes. Deep brown. Focused. Curious. He remembered the way she had watched herself undress in the dream, tentative and fascinated by her own body. The image brushed up against the terror she must have felt later, lying awake in the dark, hoping whoever had watched her would leave.

I told him and he looked at me with pure astonishment. "What do you mean"? I took him to the wall size mirror and there. He was shocked. Surprised. Mesmerized. What else? It can’t help but make me wonder who he is, as for some reason he looks so familiar. The more I stare, the more interesting it seems. Time is so talented, it’s as if he is actually looking at me. When I go to stand back up to find somewhere to hide, I’m thrown backwards into a tree, hitting my head. I groan and let my vision come to focus. My head begins to throb as I sit up and I notice I am nowhere near the fight. A hooded figure comes to view, I try to stand but stumble from dizziness. The hooded figure gets closer and lets out a horrid screech. I start gasping as a blue wisp starts to come from my parted lips and I feel as if my energy is being drained. Right before darkness consumes me, I see those purple eyes with gold flecks.

“It only happened when I asked them to help me see Cristine.” Amy nodded slowly. “Makes sense. You’re taking in too much of their energy to open your inner eye to other entities. And for some reason, that’s knocking you out every time.” “Meaning no more asking for extra sight,” the Haunter Supreme decreed, and waited for me to face him. “Promise you won’t do it again.” I nodded with a weary smile. “Okay, off of me, all of you.
