I asked as I played with my drinks. He stared at me for a moment before smiling a bit. That simple gesture of his makes my heart pound violently inside my chest. "She deserves to be in jail, but she deserves to die, right?" My eyes widened a fraction. "W-What?" I stuttered. He chuckled lightly. "A person like her is like a venomous snake. They will take your trust and then stab you backwards," he said slowly while staring into my eyes. I felt that my body was suddenly cold. He was referring to another person, but he was hitting me.

Then— “Where do you think you’re going, human?” Another ugly bastard. He grabbed me by the hair. “You’re going to die here. No one’s saving you. Not even your mutt.” I clenched my teeth, feeling the blood, the pain, the grief. My babies… they were gone. I knew it. And then—I saw it. The snake. It came out of nowhere and lunged at him. Sank its fangs into his neck. His eyes changed colour. Then—it crushed him. Snapped his spine in half like a twig.

I could visualize that fool sitting on his throne laughing down at me as I got consumed by debt while he swam with money. They were dangerous. He was dangerous. Snake knew how to go after those you care about to get to you. He would stoop the lowest of lows if it were to get a reaction from you. He was the dirtiest bastard to ever walk this earth. And he fucking knew it. I glared into his cold eyes and nodded stiffly. I have eighty-k left to give him. By then, I'd be a bloody pulp or in a body bag. The latter wasn't one I was hoping for, at least not yet.

His jaw was very prominent from his anger, his eyes were full of depth and passion, and his lips gosh she wanted to kiss those lips and get lost in them. "Are you listening?" he snapped at me. How can I listen when he was sinfully so close to me that I am tempted to crawl up into his body and give him a kiss. Dispersing the thoughts out of my head, I seductively crawled my hand on top of his and peered at him through my lashes. "Yes yes I heard you. But you should probably know by now that I am a bold and fearless woman who works until she gets what she wants."
