He anticipated her fearful reaction as he let his shadows come to the surface, visible to her as they completely filled his eyes, but she needed his help.
He placed his hand lightly on her cheek and tiny dark tendrils separated from his hand, uncurling as they slowly reached out. Incorporeal, yet causing very real, physical effect, he guided them through her skin, the tiny strands seeking out injury. They deftly soothed her flesh and repaired her bone, healing her as they drew her pain away. He smiled as he saw her relief, and caught her easily as she suddenly faded from consciousness.
