Troubled Heart

Troubled Heart

she whispered, her voice low and raw. I rested my chin on her lap, ears drooping as she stared off at nothing. I couldn’t understand what had happened—why they were pulled apart, why the girl with the kind eyes and warm lap wasn’t with us now—but I knew what sadness smelled like. Makayla smelled like heartbreak. Not the loud kind. Not the kind with tears or yelling. The quiet kind. The heavy kind. The type that lingered in your chest like smoke long after the fire had gone out.

Bryant truly is such a gifted writer. This is another great story that is absolutely worth a read! Loved the characters/their personalities and the differences they brought to the table that balanced each other out beautifully. As always author - job well done! Cant wait for more from you :)

Great read. As always, Author Bryant keeps you on the edge of your seat. Just enough spice to be spicy but not too much. I love that everything Bryant puts in her books has a purpose. There isn’t a spicy scene just to have one. Everything builds for the storyline and characters. Another 5 star.

Project Heartbreak

Project Heartbreak

Ben hissed, looking around the diner. “What? It’s true!” she said, sniffling. “The forbidden teacher affair! The blackmail! The fake-dating lessons that turn real! The possessive jersey! The tragic misunderstanding and breakup! It’s got everything!” She fanned herself with a napkin. “I’m emotionally compromised.” I couldn’t help it. I laughed. A real, genuine laugh. Seeing my trauma through Maya’s dramatic lens somehow made it feel smaller. Less like a world-ending catastrophe and more like a really intense, poorly plotted chapter in my life.

Shattered Hearts

Shattered Hearts

I whipped my head to London's and just like practice I started walking up to his face, "Fine! You want to see the darkness inside, little Demon you can't handle it, much less understand it!" "Try me," he eyes met mine and my heart stuttered but I couldn't afford to slip up in the middle of the concert or even wonder why that happened. "Ha, you wanna get to know me? Fine then, know that heavy metal was my only escape from a heartless world that we're living in. It brought me peace brought me joy, brought me everything when everything around only causes me pain." "Guess what little kitten, Heavy Metal's the name and I know won't believe me but I'm not playing no games, just come a little close

Heartbroken by his Rejection

Heartbroken by his Rejection

But the threat still stung all the same. Catalina shot one last wicked glance at me as she turned to leave. Hell, I felt very unwelcome. While I was still in the middle of processing everything that just happened, a maid walked towards me interrupting my thoughts. “I heard you’re the Alpha’s VIP guest. Welcome to the Silverton Pack Kingdom,” she said, her tone chipper. “I was directed to collect your things and get you ready for dinner. I’m the head maid.” “Uh, nice to meet you?” I said in between doubts while trying to analyze her features, c’mon this girl looked ... .twelve? Fourteen??.
