Heat Wave Novels & Stories

Just then, a message from Sophie popped up. [Honey, tons of private videos from hotels and clubs have leaked online after the holiday season! So scary! Luckily, we didn't do anything risky… but still, I can't help but worry.] She attached a censored video as an example. I opened it out of curiosity. Although the video was blurry and the sound was altered, one short clip struck me. The people in it looked just like Tessa and me! "Damn it! What's going on?" I gripped my phone, barely containing my rage. I called Tessa immediately, demanding, "Where did you post our video?"

Connor has been incredible as always, giving me back and foot rubs when he can tell I am uncomfortable but even he doesn’t have the power to stop this heat. We are 8 days into the hottest heat wave on record and trust me to be heavily pregnant in this hellfire. The fan in front of me is doing nothing to stop the sweat from making my body glisten. I am in a breastfeeding bra and short shorts and I still feel like I am wearing too much. “Bethany, it’s time to get out of the bath. Don’t splash Daddy.” I hear Connor say to our three year old. He insisted we call her Bethany after my mum and I am so glad we did, that little firecracker does my mothers memory proud.

What becomes too hot and unbearable? "W-what do you mean by that?" "I mean there are times when the weather becomes too harsh and..." "A-and melt people?" Ariel laughed. "No one melts. Our systems are built for the heat." Valerie groaned. What about her? Was her system built for the heat? What happens when her body cannot take the heat? Would she die? Or melt? She shivered. Isn't this a bad idea coming here? Ariel noticed she was scared. She held her hand. "Have you ever wondered why the Fire Pack that was supposed to be the hottest of all Packs, became a boundary between the two hemispheres?"

I felt her growing weak by the second. "Sincerely, if this lasts longer and no solution is found it could affect you severely . There are many negative side effects of heat on royal female wolves from increased aggression, restlessness, decrease in appetite, weight loss, reproductive problems and in some very severe cases, mental illness which leads to the female wolves injuring themselves or pack members" Is it that intense? "So what you're saying in essence is that if something is not done quickly the heat could kill me?" I ask and she nods. I feel breath being knocked out of me.

That the Moon Goddess could do no wrong, but he was cruel, waiting until she entered Heat before rejecting her. When she entered Heat, he sold her to several warriors from the pack and throughout the heat period she was abused by dozens of men, without rest, with hardly any food except their semen... When the period was over, the man rejected her and that was the last straw. The woman killed herself by cutting her neck in front of him, but all he did was laugh and have her body burned. 'Am I going into Heat?' I thought. Heat is a woman's period when she becomes more fertile and secretes pheromones to mating, usually, her mate spends these days with her and this is celebrated in the pack, eve

Sasha nodded her head. “Why don’t you seem stressed by this? We might actually have to work endless shifts if there is an outbreak.” She felt her hairs already falling out just by thinking about it. “It will be a miracle if endless shifts will help.” Sasha said lightly. “What do you mean?” Sasha stared at her seriously. “There will be a heat wave soon… Well, that is what the media will call it. Rather than wasting time gathering information, you can help me design medical protocols. What do you say?”

Her thermoregulation system was already on the verge of collapse. The sky, which had been dark just moments ago, suddenly brightened. Heat waves rippled through the air. Even my insulated protective suit began to grow hot. My eyes widened as it hit me that tomorrow was the day the apocalyptic heat would fully erupt. Suppressing the instinct to rush back to my underground shelter, I forced myself to stay calm and turned to Janine. “There’s going to be an explosive temperature surge today,” I said steadily. “If you want to stay here, that’s your choice. But I’m going back.”

I undressed immediately, stroking myself as Caspian did the same. I hardened impossibly as I watched Kai thrust his fingers in and out of her wet core, lapping at her essence. The wet, slurping sound his fingers made was a massive turn-on, and I clenched my stomach. The heat wave intensified, its effect staggering, making my knees weak. If I felt this much, Kaida was undoubtedly experiencing a hundred times worse. No wonder her eyes were glassy, her mind numb from the pain. There was no chance she could fight that much heat.

Unzipping the heavy canvas, I reached past my textbooks and pulled out Michael's coffee-stained shirt. As I held the white fabric in my hands under the dim light of my bedroom, my mind traitorously drifted back to the classroom. Against my will, the image of Michael standing half-naked right in front of me flashed vividly in my mind. I could still clearly picture the extreme, rigid definition of his six-pack abs, the broad, powerful cut of his shoulders, and the dangerous heat radiating from his sun-kissed skin. He looked like an apex predator, and I had been close enough to feel the warmth of his breath. Even now, standing alone in the dark, the memory made my face flush bright red.

Once the sun rose, the horrible heatwave would spread across the Earth. "Will I really be able to make it until help arrives?" I mumbled to myself. Even though I had informed my family about this the first minute I was reborn, I wondered if they had enough time to hoard provisions in one day. Everyone was still able to survive with air conditioning at the beginning of the heat apocalypse because there was still water and electricity. However, all electronic equipment stopped working after a week, and every drop of water had evaporated because of the high heat. Once that happened, it became hell on Earth!
