The monster pulled its arm back, ready to drive the fatal nail into Lucas. “No!” I screamed. I stepped forward and stretched my hand out toward the beast. I did not know what I was doing, but a sudden, blinding heat surged through my veins. Bright beams of light lasers flowed directly from my palms. The bright light struck the monster right in the chest and zapped it with a loud crackling sound. The beast released a deafening screech before it fell backward. It hit the dirt with a heavy thud and died instantly, its body smoking from the blast. It disintegrated into dust.

It swung back, claws tearing into Thorne’s side. He grunted and hit the ground, blood spreading across his shirt. “Thorne!” I screamed. The monster turned to me, lips curling back to reveal sharp teeth. Something inside me snapped. Heat exploded in my chest. My vision blurred with a golden light. My hands lit up with fire and before I could even think, I raised them. “Back the hell off!” I yelled. And I released it. Flames blasted from my palms, hitting the creature head-on. It shrieked as it burned, thrashing in agony. Within seconds, it dropped to the ground and stopped moving.

Aracely cried "can't you see? I don't deserve this? everything I touch, everything I love, it burns and turns to ashes, it's reduced, broken shattered, why would you try and save a monster like me" "You are not a monster!" Next, she quickly slammed her palm at the array map. Boom! A giant fireball burst out from the array map. As it immediately engulfed Tanya, it also violently smashed at the wave of monsters like a burning meteorite. Soon, their wailing and screaming echoed in the surroundings. Some of the monsters did not burn to death on the spot, but as their body caught flames, they were like a massive fireball. The burning monsters screamed and rushed toward their surroundings, and the wave of monsters quickly turned into a mess. Scott, Elijah, and Zachary quietly watched the scene.

Meredith said angrily. As they entered the house behind the monster, several pairs of eyes looked at them at once giving them away. The monster figured it out and turned to attack, leaving June on the floor next to the students abducted earlier but it was too late. He was at his weakest and the most vulnerable inside his hideout. June jumped up quickly and the three of them joined hands to cast the spell. Suddenly, the whole building was engulfed in flames. Victoria watched as the monster quickly melted away in flames. She saw both of her friends fall to ground before losing consciousness.

Then, her dying in my arms. Her blood on my hands. Her voice calling me... monster. A burning vengeance ignites inside of me, and my eyes snap open. "Impossible—" they murmur. I inhale, and the restraints tremble. "Get away from me," I snarl, my healing ability kicking in. The blade clatters as my chest pushes it out and my restraints crack. My captors stumble backward. "He's regenerating! Stop him! Stop the frequency —" Too late.

The smile vanished from the monster’s face, and his two comrades looked at each other. She felt the one coming up behind her. His energy was evil, oily, a filth spreading across her porch and reaching her before he did. She turned and fired a missile right into his chest. Flames raced up his torso and he screamed, sprawling backward, rolling and then jumping off the porch to run. The wind fanned the flames as he raced away.

I hate the look of my muscles all tense and stitched tight on my back. A lifetime of blows and bouncing back collects scars. I've had a lot of scalding showers, and bruises have become stretched and angry on me, causing pitted scars. There are no tears, but the groans come in multitude. As a monster, you learn never to accept pain. Pain only affects you if you let it. Black slacks. Black socks. Charcoal shoes are polished until they look like a crisp new apple skin. The shirt is deep forest green, which brings out the natural multiple hues of green in my eyes. Intentional. Gold flecks are juxtaposed in my iris.

~Author’s POV~ That night, while Harriet got ravaged by Rael, Simon had booked a hotel and was just about to enter when someone crept up behind him, wrapping arms around him from the back. He was stunned, his eyes widening as it moved lower to see a pair of dainty hands. But when he turned, the woman's face did not match her hands at all. She looked hideous, her hair like a bird's nest and her face filled with red spots that would make anyone scared.
